My hope was to find someone who had parts in stock. I'm trying to get this truck done for my mom, actually, who would rather drive this than ANY OTHER VEHICLE. No kidding. She is crazy for this truck but unfortunately , West Virginia law sez : NO RUST HOLES in yer vehicle. So I'm scrambling to find parts.

So just fiberglass and/or bondo the holes until you can get the panels.

yes i could, i guess, but i would still have to wait. Mom lives in another state and needs the truck back soon.

I found these guys , toyotapartsales.com. Had full replacement panels advertised online........ What a joke. I emailed trying to find out if they would ship me a set of quarters and just got a "we don't ship body panels" That's it- no explaining , no "sorry". In other words "we could care less" or "we're too lazy /stupid to crate two panels" , is what they should have told me.


I guess I will have to wait on wolf..........

Except where it's going into the rocker panel, that's not too bad really. The rest is fairly normal for a 1st gen Runner.

Both my Runners had the same when I got them.

yes they are - and both sides are completely wasted.

From what i've researched - NO ONE makes these anymore.

i just got a quote back on some 16 ga mandrel bent tube to match them for 230 bucks both sides. i would then reweld the original brackets on the new tube.

Yes, the 1/4 rust is only bad on the outer panel........ the wheel house looks great.

once you "dig" in there though .. you'll find the rust is a whole lot more then " what you see ..


if you have the cash? .. I'm sure I can fix you up with a set of sides .. NO BS though as I will be doing OT on my christmas break ..

The wheelhousings do look ok at this point. Ive taken the interior trim out and it looks ok from the top all the way to the edge.

The area in red may be a little sketchy , tho. But i have pretty good welding skills so this doesn't bother me. What I can't do is form sheet metal into a wheel arch!

Mine looked about the same, and I have no welding skills and no cash. Roof flashing, bondo, sheet metal screws, and spray paint and I now have a valid inspection sticker to roam the highways and byways of New Hampshire. I had to rebuild the whole tailgate, felt like a dentist working on a tooth broke down to the gum line. It looks a little rough, but, hey, its an OLD TRUCK. We have more salt up here than you do in WV- I know, I lived in Summers County. I approve your mom's taste in vehicles, and your determination to make it look like new. But I concentrate on essential mechanical stuff. I'm planning on stripping the whole bed off this spring. Good luck and remember- Mountaineers Are Always free.
