Where to tap into parking brake?

I recently purchased a Avic-Z1 and a few accessories and had them installed in my '05 SR5. Since I was in a rush to get out of town and get to a graduation I didn't have time to play with it after getting it from the shop.

Once I did get a chance to play with it I have found that the installer was a moron. He did not connect the speed sensor, illumination wire or reverse sensor. Since the Illumination wire is part of the wiring harness I asked him why that was not connected over the phone and he tried to tell me the 4runner did not have the right wire, that the dimmer wouldn't work (BS). He also grounded the parking brake so I get the error every time, which I saw right away but did not have the time to deal with, when asked he said there was no way to tap into the parking brake, since I have seen other runners with this installed correctly I know it is possible.

In the next few days I will be making the connections myself as I refuse to let the same shop work on my car again. I already know where to connect the speed sensor (behind A/C controls), illumination(wiring harness) and reverse sensor(behind glove box). My question is, where is the best place to tap into the parking brake lead?

what color wire can i hook the speed sensor up to?

why dont you just ground the parking brake sensor?

What do you actually buy by doing it lawfully?

Because with the bypass it doesn't matter what the parking brake is doing.

So if the need ever comes that I need to show everything is connected properly I would be able to. Plus, if you don't decide to do the bypass you get the annoying click-through if it is just grounded all the time.

You dont need to get the parking brake. I grounded mine and put a hidden inline switch in the center armrest. You can flip it if needed. This link should help you identify wire locations though.

Can anyone help me locate these cables a little more? What colors and where to pinpoint? I installed the Z1 today and grounded the brake sensor but didn't hook up the rest.

speed sense is purple/red at the ECM, 2nd plug from bottom, pin 8 . ECM Is behind the glovebox.

Parking brake is lt. green at the Body ECU, middle plug, pin 2. BECU Is on the driver side under the dash.

reverse is red/yellow at the left of fuses, 16 pin plug.
