Where's your GPS mounted?

Right now I've got my gps (Garmin 265) mounted on my windshield just above my clock in the middle of my dash. Not super happy with where it is and how it sits but for now it's there. Anyone found a decent place to stash the thing? Looking to find some ideas for a more permanent place to keep it and then hide the wire behind the dash and add a hidden power source for it. Maybe some sort of homemade bracket to stick it...?

**Did see the thread where it was recessed into the sun visor. I like the idea of it up there, just not having to have it down to see it**

I mounted a 12V cigarette lighter under the dash, near the foot rest as the power source; cheap and easier than hardwiring. Mounted the GPS on the top of the windshield as the pictures show and ran the wires down the pilar.

YA mine is the ne mounted in the sunvisor... i like that i dont have to look at it often since i can heard the voice but ya its nice to look at the screen for reassurance. The main reason i put it up there was so i didnt have to have to hide it everytime i parked somewhere since i know theft i going up now and days.

The GPS light dimmed all the way down was still too much of a distraction for me at night to put it up front so I just left it in the glove box for emergency use. Also didn't want it stolen if I forget to take it down in a rough part of town. Glass costs too much to replace. Now that my phone offers GPS and Google maps I decided to sell my Garmin. Got $50 last night off ebay. More Xmas funds.

I have mine located in the lower corner driverside. If you look at JSMarine pics it would be where his Texas vehicle inspection stickers are.

Mine is mounted just like JSMARINE did. I ran the assy. socket to ignition power so it turns on when I start the truck and shut's off when I turn the truck off.
My radar detector is right beside it same hook up.
