You are not kidding. I went through 40 dealers to try and find what I thought was a decent price and I’m still not sure if I did ok.

Why is it everyone commenting on here is acting ashamed that they got the SR5?... I have a 3" toytec lift, JBA UCAs, with cooper stt pro's and i guarantee it is just as capable if not more capable than a stock trail or pro... Not to mention much cheaper by doing it myself. Not knocking the trail or pro packages at all cause i love them also, but for what i needed the SR5 is great! For those of you that are going to point out the lockers your are in a group of about 2% if you use them. (pics or it didn't happen)

True that. The only thing I think the SR5P could benefit from is a rear locking diff and the JBL sound system. For 35k. It is tough to beat.

Ditto on the Trail but there is nothing regular or old about the Trail. We get to pull a shifter to change from 2WD to 4WD, not twist a switch. Also we get the retina burning "hood scoop." For me I could not fit into a 4Runner with a sunroof, it takes too much room out of the headliner for me to be comfortable. Also the Premium does not have leather either, to get true leather you need to buy Katzkin covers. I had aftermarket seat heaters added.

Polls like this are pretty meaningless ->
My normal stomping grounds are rural north Nevada counties of Lyon, Churchill, Pershing, Lander and Nye which cover probably the same geographical area as many eastern states and has a total population of less than 70, 000 people.
Here our fifth gen 4Runner ownership is probably about 2000 total. My estimate of models seen is probably:
SR5 = 1900
Limited = 50
Trail = 50
TRD and ORP probably less than 10
All are 4x4, most have no mods except for upgraded off-road tires.
Of those 2000 vehicles probably less than 10 are members of Toyota 4Runner Forum and perhaps 2 of us contribute.
With that said, I think that I think that, Polls are taken from people who live in large urban areas.

I wanted the most basic 4Runner even though I could afford any one I wanted. I prefer to build it myself and for the money get top quality stuff that I chose over ''factory stuff'' for a big mark-up. I don't like leather in the 120 degree heat.....sunroof is horrible here too...hate running boards and never want a 3rd row. ARB for a locker over the factory one........wheels I like instead of factory.....etc. All in my SR-5 is 40K total and mostly done!....and paid off!:banana::banana:
