I've heard of the comet mount coming loose over time or while offroad. The CBI mount is nice, but most would prefer to have the antenna on the rear of their vehicle.

I've been told Rago Fabrication is in the process of making an antenna mount for the rear of a 4th gen. That's what I'm holding out for.

Time to bump this up.
I got the CBI mount, a new wilson 3' and cant get the SWRs below 2 across the board (ch 1, ch 20 & ch 40)
I also have the Comet mount that I used for a little with a small antenna.
So lets see your mounts and what SWR did you get?

Until you get away from a fiberglass antenna and not having a mount that gets 2/3 of the antenna above your roof line, preferably on the roof, your about the best your going to get.

quick update:
I had a Solarcon antenna and I thought, it was tuned before, so I just threw it on the CBI mount just for grins.
Well that little thing was set pretty good, I got a 1.5 on ch 1,4,20 and 40, so I am staying with this little no name.
