Which Five Stars did you go with? Pics please

I'm looking at some lighter aftermarket wheels, and I think I have settled on the classic five-star design. For all of you who run five stars on your T4Rs...

1. Which ones did you choose, and why?
2. What kind of lift (if any) and tires are you running?
3. Any minor fitment issues? (rubbing on the fenders, mud flaps, body mount, UCAs)
4. Any other problems with them? Would you choose the same ones again?

Pics greatly appreciated! Please keep the pics to Five Star wheels. I know they're sprinkled throughout the forum; would be nice to have a bunch of references in one place.

The three options I can think of are:

• Stealth Custom Series (SCS) F5
• FN Wheels Five Star (they do have a 17" wheel, just not listed on their site)
• VTX Outlaw

1. At the time, FN was the only company to offer a 5 star wheel in a 17. I bugged Brian (FN owner at the time) for a solid 2 years before they made a 17" mold. Here's my original thread from 2016 about them.

2. 285/75/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Spidertrax spacers. In the above photos, Toytec Ultimate Lift, BMC, ton of liner cutting.

3. Rubbing ultimately comes down to what tire size/tread pattern to decide to go with. At the time I wanted a 17x9 wheel, I was running the Konig Six Shooters in 17x9, to be safe FN made the wheel only 8.5, there would be more of a challenge for most folks to run a 9" wheel.

4. I'll be selling my set of 5 here in a couple weeks. I love these wheels, the shape is so much better than the F5's, the spokes are less rounded and still have that double step lip. I don't want to get rid of them, but I do have some F5's lined up. I need a wider wheel for my new setup.

Thanks for the info! I'll probably stay away from 9" wide wheels. I actually like the wider, straight spokes of the F5s and Outlaws more. I think they look stouter and more classic to me. But they're all good.

Well, it's done. Just ordered a set of 17 x 8.5 [MENTION=88453]SCSPerformance[/MENTION] F5s in Matte Jet Black. I'll have my stock size LT G2s mounted up and balanced and report back.

Great choice! I've been trying to get SCS F5's for a long time, but never had any luck. Thanks to your thread I decided to check out the website and ordered a set of the F5's in Matte Gunmetal (17x8.5). Congrats to you and thanks for the reminder!

Yet both the pattern of five spokes and the pattern of 6 lugs exhibit perfect radial symmetry. Does that help your OCD?

Forgot to add--

When I had these mounted up, I had some minor rubbing issues when in reverse or at full lock–and that's with stock size tires! These wheels are so much wider that they rubbed just a bit on the front fender liner. Had to push it forward about 2". Rubbing all gone. :thumb:
