which insurance do you have?

Allstate. I had Allstate a while back, but switched to Progressive because they were cheaper. Bit me in the arse when I had an accident. They were such a PITA to deal with and the accident wasn't my fault! My 1991 4Runner was totaled and they would only give me about 60% of the actual value. Even though the other parties insurance was eventually going to pay. Didn't make any sense to me. I would show them comparable sales (single owner, similar condition, aprox same miles) and what they went for and they returned with a bunch of beat to sh*t Runners and what they went for. After all was settled, I dropped them and went back to Allstate.
 
Man, I've heard really great things about USAA, I'm using Progressive right now - no accidents, but if you're looking to lower your premiums like I am, I recommend reading up on Lowering Your Car Insurance Premium - honestly, I like cheap rates but I want to make sure I get quality coverage.
 
Ive got AMFAM. I pay $65 a month full coverage, rental ins, rental car, 300K Liability, yadda yadda The cool thing is My agent gave me more to cover my "additional equipment" too

I agree that USAA is a pretty tough one to beat anyone who has it deserves those mad discounts. Thank you for your service!

Up here in Canada insurance is abismal. Doesn't help where I live we have the highest car insurance in the country.

I'm seeing 500/yr here for full coverage.

Try $500/mth for liability only on the runner and full coverage on a subcompact car.

I'm with TD - which is a Canuck brand.

i have SF and I always talk to my agent, not her secretary my premiums is socheap it`s almost embarassing to talk about it.full coverage on 2012 4R with no deductible glass coverage and 1000 deductible is 208 for 6 month.
imade a claim once for my previous truck, all covered as it should, so far im happy with SF
 
I have Allstate and couldnt be happier. My Scion xB was totaled by an unisured driver last October and they took awesome care of me. I got $9600 for a car that was worth 5K at most, had my check within a week of the incident. I also have them for renters insurance (I save more each month by having multiple policies than the renters insurance costs) which I had to make a claim with as well. I had two bikes stolen out of our storage unit at my appartment and again they offered me unheard of customer service and gave me more than what the bikes cost to replace, Bonus!

That stinks, but not all StateFarm agents are like that one. I have StateFarm, and even worked for them for a while. My agent knows my kids names, calls me if there is a bad storm in my area to make sure everything is ok and the few times I have made claims, has handled everything.

Just not fair to paint that broad brush stroke across all StateFarm agents...

USAA, grandfathered in by my grandfather. Never had to use them for a claim that was my fault.

Had a 2002 Tacoma bought new in 01 for around 22k. In October of 09, got in a head on collison that wasnt my fault, totaled the Tacoma.

The guy that hit me had Ameriprise, and I only spoke to them once then let my lawyer handle it. Ended up getting $12.5k for it! Used it to buy the 4Runner.

USAA was there for me all the way. My lawyer said if it wasnt for them, I wouldnt have gotten that amount, or even close to what I got additionally in injury settlement.

If you have the means, USAA is the way to go. My homeowners is through them also.
