I’m absolutely not bored or baked. Ok that’s a lie, but it got me to thinking about changing my wheels to something darker. Can’t decide if it looks better or worse though.

All opinions welcome :hat:

Can it....can it be both?

I like the silver on the light truck with silver trim.
Some day I'll get around to doing mine in a grey like Duplicolor graphite hp wheel coating, but I don't have a lot of silver left on the truck at this point.

PS. Your truck sure does look pretty.

I like the unpainted rims myself. The only time I really like painted rims is on true sport cars.

Did you ever change the timing belt?

As a general rule I like the dark rims with a dark paint. Light color paint like yours look best with the original silver. Have some fun with the center caps though, easy to repaint if you change your mind

I have LC80 wheels that are painted black. If they weren't painted when I bought them, I would have kept them the factory finish.

i'm partial to black/darker wheels. would be interesting to see the trim and wheels black to match the contrast of the body and windows.

One of the car shows had a sponsor that had peelable paint for wheels. Required some prep, a good cleansing. They had 20 or 30 colors.

Black accents would look good with your dark tint but I’d say leave the wheels silver and do black lug nuts and maybe paint the hub cap emblem black while you’re at it.

Thanks Hab, I like the silver trim too and I plan to repaint it the same color one if these days to spruce it up. I’m actually planning to spruce the whole truck up soon, carpet, headliner ... the works.

I rarely get bored as I’m prone to flights of fancy whenever left to my own devices for too long.

As for the timing belt, it’s next on my to-do list after I replace the rear axle bearings/seals and brakes.

I think painted black if you paint your limited trim black.

otherwise non painted IMO
I love the white/silver combo too much to ever paint them black. But I did once consider it a long time ago.

Just paint Jimi faces on the center caps...

Don’t give me any ideas...my neighbors already think I’m weird enough

Is that much different than plasti-dip?

other than unpainted I dig the Bronze color.

I’ve never seen a white/silver runner with bronze wheels. Would be interesting looking I’m sure

I'm thinking unpainted...but only because you have a lighter colored vehicle :)
I'm honestly asking myself the same question. I have a black '96 and don't know if I want to paint mine black or if that would just be too much black (is there such a thing?).
