why not just pick up a used factory hitch? I would offer mine up, but i'm not quite ready to do my bumper build yet.
Not sure what you mean by " factory one is below" , any pics would be awesome. Also a good idea to look for a used one, I'll call some local yards today..
Go to your local craigslist and search 4r for sale, look at the pictures, the reciever square is below the cross member. Then look at the new ones for sale.
I've been going thru this process, and tried to do Ebay as well. Thankfully, the parts reseller sent me an additional set of pictures on one I had bought. As it was bent.
Really, it was my bad for not taking off the one on the 4r that was totaled.
I just got a Drawtite from Autoanything yesterday. Two points. Was listed at 6000/600, and the one that showed up was marked as 5000/500. Second, they shipped it without any wrapping at all, so it arrived with the powdercoating/paint dinged up. Not happy, as I am using for salt water jet ski, and depending on the ramp, the hitch gets dipped.....
Been 24 hours without a personal contact from Autoanything. Did get an automated email, that they would contact me in 48 hours.

So I've been doing some research and apparently a company called cequent has bought all the hitch manufacturers out including draw tite, reese,curt and a few others . I found a link to their site and they offer different brand on the same site so that makes sense.
Anyway I'm still trying to understand the hitch below the crossmember thing and hopefully some photos will get me straight. the first one below is a bent one from cequent and doesn't appear to have any drop and the second I pilfered from ebay which looks aftermarket and with a drop. Can't seem to find any pics of OEM hitches so any help is appreciated. Going back to my OP I thin the curved round tube looks the best ?
btw I did call some local yards and T$R's are scarce...

from the same site Trailer Hitches, Hitch Accessories, Hitch Wiring also says this one fits but notice the different mounting location. Also says it's class IV 500/5000 and the one above is rated class III 500/5000.. I'm confused.

If you aren't going to be doing any off road driving the factory "dropped" hitch isn't even a concern. Even if you are, you won't be much worse off w/ the hitch than you all ready are for having the spare under the truck. As far as finding one local to you try ..... Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market easiest way to search the salvage yards for parts.

The picture on the right is the OEM hitch.
From my look at the websites, all of them indicate the picture might not be the exact one. In my case, the Drawtite that showed up is a beefy one, with the end of the tubes caped. Not the one pictured in this post, or the other post following it on this thread. Raining here, or I would post a pic.

I just got a brand new Drawtite rated 5,000 lbs off craigslist for my '98 Limited, for only $70! But it didn't come with any mounting hardware or instructions. Does anyone know where I can find the instructions online or just tell me what hardware I need to install? THANKS!

As a ending to this thread, let me say that I used the car part finder, and located a few at different junk yards.
Picked one up a used oem for $50, and spent a few hours scraping, brushing, and painting. Used the rust negating paint at $8 for a can. So, for $65., including gas to go get it, I was way ahead of the dinged up one Auto Anything sent me.
Despite telling them not to, Autoanything sent me another hitch, again not packaged, and this one was even more dinged up. Took quite awhile to get my full refund too.
It is probably the fault of the Drawtite warehouse for shipping un-packaged. So, it was the poor communication, understanding of their product, and slow refund that is the fault of Autoanything.
