Whistling Crossbars

Anyone here have the OEM crossbars installed? Do yours whistle? Mine are driving me nuts. They start whistling at about 35 mph. I tried sliding them back a bit, but that didn't help. I wonder if they installed them backwards or something? They will definitely be coming off if I can't figure this one out.

Thanks, but the dealer installed them.

I found the official Toyota installation instructions via a Google search. Will pull her in the garage tonight and see what's up.

The dealer probably installed them backwards. Hopefully the same clunk that installed them isn't in the Air National Guard.

They were both installed backwards. I took them both out, put them the correct way and no more whistle. Sweet!

Funny, the dealer did this with my 2008 when I first bought it also. I guess the arrows were not big enough to follow to insure proper installation....lazy asses.

I was thinking the same thing when I noticed these were clearly marked, right front, left front, right rear and left rear. Not to mention the official Toyota instructions that go with the crossbars couldn't have been more specific and easy to follow.

My dealer did a trade to get my 4Runner, so I don't know if they were installed by Southeastern Toyota or the dealer they got the car from. They were listed on the "add-on" sticker, so I'm assuming SET is the culprit here. I'll put a call into my salesman tomorrow and let him know about this in case he gets any more customers complaining about whistling 4Runners.
