White Exterior Color?

So there is a white 4Runner for a really good deal near me. The only thing is that white is probably my least favorite color. White 4Runners (no offense ) seem kind of mom-ish to me. I plan on doing a couple of things to any 4R I get, first will be a leveling/lift kit and the other will be bigger tires/ new rims. I wanted black rims but I don't know how they will look on a white one. Any opinions out there? Also, pics are always welcome! Thanks!

You're killin me! White IMO looks the best. Shows less dirt and scratches as a bonus. There's like a gazillion white 4runner builds as well. Google image search "4th gen 4runner white" and it will lead you to the light side of the internet.

Does this look like a soccer-mom vehicle?

I don't see white as soccer mom. Add some black (Tint/wheels/bumper) and it'll quickly lose the mom look

Dunno about "mom-ish" but I passed on an amazing 4Runner offer just because it was white. White kills a car's lines to me. I could never own a white car.

Ok, ok maybe I was wrong. Those pictures are exactly what I wanted to see. I probably splurge on the black hardware before the lift to get some contrast first. Maybe black headlights?

If you don't want white then look and get what you want, just don't discount it as an option if the vehicle is in good shape.

I assume you will be making changes to suit your needs/taste anyway.

This is funny, I looked high and low for a white 4runner where I live. Everyone wanted an extra 5k for a white one, so I settled for a blue one and got a 7k discount because nobody wanted blue.

btw-- It regularly gets over 110 degrees where i live in California. Seems that black is the least desirable color for any car around here.

I just sold a white 2014 Grand Cherokee and bought a black 2016 4Runner. I like both but I think black looks better on the T4R.

I waited almost a year to find a white 4runner. Passed on a shadow mica with 76k well cared for miles because I wanted white. I love the stormtrooper look.

But I won't try to convince you white is the color you should get. You should get what you want. I almost bought that shadow mica until a good friend said "every time you see a white 4runner, are you going to be jealous or wish you had it?" My answer was a yes, so...

Are you going to be jealous, or otherwise wish you had that other color of 4runner when it drives by or you stumble on it's build in the forum if you buy this white one?

(I should note I also keep cars, phones, computers, etc for a really long time, so doing it right the first time is important. You could always pay for paint, or a new car if you find something better or only plan on keeping it a couple years)

4Runners are scarce here in Jamaica. Had to buy the color available at the time or wait another year or two before another turns up. I ended up getting a white which at the time was not my desired color. After having it and doing little things to make it my own I have come to realize that it is really the best color in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever seen a white 4Runner in my entire life. In my area I see a lot of silver, blue, and black. The minute I bought the Driftwood Pearl I see one almost every morning bringing my daughter to her grandparents

Trust me. It's not the color. All stock 4runners can look "mom-ish". It's how you mod it, where you take it and what you do with it that'll define it. Of course this is all subjective and everyone will have their own opinion. Plenty of mall crawlers and pavement queens out there in various colors. Regardless of color, number of fox shocks on each wheel, how tall the lift or how big the tires, when all they do is cruise the mall parking lots, they all look "mom-ish". Get what ever color you want, mod it for your needs then go out, take it off road and have fun with it. Good luck and don't forget to post pics.

When I bought my 4Runner, I only had a few requirements. It had to be white, had to have a V8, 4X4 and Sport Edition. I prefer the white with black contrast. But that's just me.

My .02 on my garage:

Black Convertible: Looks fantastic the day you wash it. Looks dusty the next day. Looks dirty as hell if you ever go through a puddle or have a slight drizzle . Swirls galore. 5-foot rule applies.

White SUV: With tinted windows and a blackout grille, I love the stormtrooper look. Not only is it popular based on this thread, this very forum is the reason I searched out a white one. Only drawback: I had no idea it would collect so many bugs & tar. I had to buy a case of Stoner's Tarminator.

Silver 4Runner: It doesn't show dust & dirt, which is great because I'm lazy. But it couldn't be any more anonymous. I live in a reasonably small town, and there are 3 silver 4Runners within 100 yards of my house.
