White Exterior Color?

People continue to mistake my base, no-option SR5 for a $50-grand-plus 4Runner 'cause of it being white.

I think I'm starting to like the whites a little more (same thing happened with the gold. I originally hated but I kind of fell for after I saw one hahaha). Anyway, does anyone know if you can Plasti Dip the chrome grilles? I'm thinking about Plasti Dipping the wheels and the grill sticks out. I don't really like chrome on cars. Would the Plasti Dip white match the OEM white? Thanks!

I love my runner, but would prefer it in white or red. Black looks amazing, but is difficult to keep it look pristine.

I was specifically looking for white as it stays cooler, doesn't look as dirty, and looks awesome with black accents. Different strokes for different folks

White is my first choice when buying a car, all other colors second.

Me too. I couldn't find a white 4th gen anywhere. I ended up going Gold. I have a white 92 Supra and my latest 84 Supra is going to have a colour change from black to white. I like white because they always look clean.

My white one was sitting out at Brimell Toyota in Scarborough. The last of two SR5s in Canada for '09. There was a metallic silver one out in Alberta but I didn't wanna pay the huge shipping fee. Not one regret.

You're killin me! White IMO looks the best. Shows less dirt and scratches as a bonus. There's like a gazillion white 4runner builds as well. Google image search "4th gen 4runner white" and it will lead you to the light side of the internet.

Ayyy, you stealing my pics? I love my white. I wasn't really looking for a particular color when I bought it but I'm finding more and more how much I lucked out with mine. I wouldn't want it in any other color. One thing I'm not sure has been mentioned about it but Toyota Natural White is a single stage paint so you'll never have to deal with chipping or fading clear coat but you will want to keep a nice polish on it or it will start to lose its shine.

You found it! :hiding: I knew it was a single stage paint, but would that lead to more chipping of the actual paint down to primer then, since no clear coat? I've noticed on a couple white 4Runners including mine, the front grille area has lots of rock chips showing primer underneath. Does this just happen with white, or do other colors have these types of chips too?

I want to say with a single stage paint they'll usually do a few extra coats but I think rock chips show a little more on white cars. Most of the time if its a hard enough hit to chip the paint its going to do it with a clear coat or without.

My .02 - I would rock a white one without hesitation. Everyone around my area has worn out the all black look = black car/black tint/black wheels/tinted head&taillights....I'd go white and do much of the same ie stormtrooper it.

I spent 6 months looking hard to buy a 4R in my area and never saw a white one on the market. I occasionally browse CL/Autotrader and can't recall the last white one I saw even. I settled for the Salsa Red Pearl which has grown on me and I'm plenty happy, but you gotta roll with what makes YOU satisfied in your purchase.

Dig thru some of the sticky'd Picture threads to get a feel for things, plenty of members whip the White T4R's....
