WhiteTiger’s ’17 TRD OFP Build Thread

Welcome to my build thread!

Name is Mike, picked up a '17 T4R Off Road Premium w KDSS last month. This is my daily driver, however, I still plan to take light off road excursions on the weekends. Hope you enjoy, look forward to learning from you all, and hopefully this thread can be of use to others.

I did the TRD PRO front grille conversion + LED grille marker lights, and replaced the OEM Running Boards with N-Fab a few weeks back.

First thing I did was remove the OEM radiator grille with the TRD Pro Grille Radiator and added the LED marker lights

There are 13 push button pins holding the radiator cover. Required no tools to remove, very easy to remove with fingers by pressing down then pulling

Purchased some cheap marker lights off Amazon. I reached out to the manufacturer in regards to the current output as it is not stated anywhere on the packaging or Amazon. The sales rep told me the current is 0.04...figured I throw it out there if anyone needed to know

I used wing nuts and washers to hold the LED markers in place

Spray painted the screw heads

Under the driver's side dash, I used the unused circuit between Towing Backup and KDSS. I plugged the fuse wire into that unused circuit. With this setup, the LED marker lights will turn on once the truck is ON.

The TRD Pro FR Bumper Garnish cover was fairly easy to install.

The look of the OEM Running Boards weren't for me so I decided to go with the N-FAB. I think that was a good decision

I used a 12mm socket to remove all 6 screws from each bracket

The N-FAB steps came with 5 screws per side. The bracket closes to the engine only needs 1 screw. I used a 13mm socket for this.

LED Lights under N-Fab Steps

I had extra LED Marker lights laying around so I decided to put them under my N-Fab Steps. Goal is to have the LED lights sync with the stock mirror puddle lights so when I unlock the car, the LED lights illuminate the ground.

Spray painted the screw heads black

In regards to my relay setup, special thank you to [MENTION=4307]matoolie[/MENTION] for breaking it down for me. Since the current drawn from the LED's are 0.04, I went with the Opto 22 relay.

Here are the terminal connections:
#1 =+12V (make sure this power wire is fused)
#2 = LED lights positive
#3 = White 4runner wire ( I have used a splice wire connector to the stock puddle light wire)
#4 = ground

The only issue I am having, and hopefully someone can shed some light, is finding a fuse slot that has power when the car is off. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Its been a while, figure I update the thread!

I purchased this light bar during black Friday. I mainly used gift cards! :guitar3:
Chrome Series Curved Cree 40"



My first major purchase finally came in. Installation was pretty simple, gobi provided a detailed guide, i also searched youtube . Additionally I purchased marine grade silicone & rubbing alcohol, which i used with the gobi provided hardware. Total time was about 2hrs & few beers with the bother :cheers:

Wanted to give a quick update. This past weekend I picked up a new pair of shoes for the rig. Went with the BFG K02 in 265's and wheels are from Ultra Motorsports.
