Who doesn't like the smell of a burnout?....

My wife. After saturating my garage with the smell of burning rubber. I now know my wife doesn't particularly like the smell of a burnout. As she stepped into our garage the other day she said... "Um, What the heck is that awful smell and how are you going to get it out of here?".... I grinned and said. "I thought you knew you married a tire guy."



After challenging two of my coworkers to a Tire Swing Build Off. Don, Matt and I went to work. We each selected a used tire from the to-be-recycled used tire bin and off we went. Don came up with a fairly simple design, Matt dreamed up something from outer space I came up with a design that was sure to make you want to kick back and relax.

Well, after the smoke had cleared, the paint had dried, and all nuts and bolts were tightened, Matt, Don and I had each created some pretty sweet tire swings.

My grandfather was a "tire man", worked at the Goodyear Tire plant in Ohio for 20+ years. He had an oxygen tank the last 10 years of his life. I was told it was all the years of breathing tire dust. Safety standards weren't quite as good in the 60s - 80s.

Luckily, I only had to make a few cuts but if I was making a couple of these I'd certainly put a mask on.

We don't have any on the drawing board as of right now but we are opening a new stores all the time. I'm sure we will get there.
