Who has shortest lead time on sliders, possibly even in stock?

Some of my wants were:

  • No top plates

  • Black powder coat

I went with RCI. I plan to do full skids from RCI as well. I really liked Pelfrey, but honestly about the same as RCI, and RCI is around 2-3 weeks to ship and Pelfrey is normally 10, but honestly with the move they are doing right now you know that is likely to effect things, so I had no issue going RCI and I think I will be very happy. I think I may make a thread with a comparison of all sliders and pictures.

Some things I liked that are not necessarily unique to RCI but definitely not available on all manufacturers sliders:

  • 45 degree mitered main tube ends. This looks aesthetic and I could see where it could be very practical as well.
  • Full length frame plate. Not all manufacturers do this! I think this is a better design.
  • Three legs. Many manufacturers are just two legs. Again not that its going to make a world of difference but its a nice touch that requires more material, more welding, etc.

Can't wait to get them installed. I would love to get my sliders on and some basic skids, I will feel more comfortable on trails. I am in less of a hurry for my bumpers although I wouldn't be surprised if my rear bumper cover gets ripped off on some of the trails........hopefully my lift will prevent some of that.

RCI makes nice stuff. I'm looking forward to see the review.

As for Metaltech shipping, that was one thing that pushed me away from other shops I liked, the shipping is plain not cheap on huge, heavy items. I picked mine up, so understandable if shipping kills it for some. It did for me with C4 fab. I liked their slider, but no coating, shipping made them more than Metaltech which I just love in the end!

I was taking a trip and needed (or thought I needed) a set of sliders. RCI was the shortest lead time and would get them to me before I left. When I stopped by the FJ Summit dealer/demo thing, I seen some other company's sliders that I liked better and by better I mean purely looks. The RCI sliders are not lacking in quality in any way. If someone wanted them, I'd sell them. If not, no big deal. I'm certainly not unhappy with them. Mine are NON KDSS and I painted them myself as I didn't want to wait the extra time for powder coat, plus I've heard of other people having their powder coat damaged during shipping.

I am curious too.

I just ordered a set of sliders and based my order on reviews from this site and photos of those same sliders mounted on other member's 4Runners. My order in no way was based on price or timing of receipt of the item. Rather it was based on quality of the item and positive member reviews of customer service.

Had I been worried about price, I would have waited for a group buy on the item I ordered; however, with no group buy on the horizon for several months, I pulled the trigger now.

As for my order, I went with C4 sliders, which have a prospective delivery date of late September, or 8 weeks.

I have learned over the years, that it is best to buy what you want and not base a purchase on price or timing.
 
My budbuilt sliders were ordered, built, powder coated, shipped, and arrived in about two weeks. That was in May of this year. I'd call them.
