Metal Tech for the win! They have saved my doors/sills from plenty of rocks and more importantly, soccer moms when they open their doors with disregard to other peoples property.
Who has shortest lead time on sliders, possibly even in stock?

I checked in with them earlier this summer and they were quoting a 10 to 12 week lead time at that point unfortunately...
Quick mention for Budbuilt, seems like he's generally pretty quick (2 to 3 weeks).
I still haven't ponied up and ordered any
.Metal Tech looks really nice but i just checked their shipping and its nearly $500 to ship to NY - UGH.

Yea, the main rail on the MT is completely different than the OPOR main rail. The frame mounting is similar and the outer rail appears to be identical. The OPOR is in no way weak, just not as robust as the MT gull-wing design, IMO.

I have OPOR sliders, they aren't going to be as strong as some that have full mounts on the frame or the sliders that even wrap under and behind the frame, but i can jack the vehicle up or slide on them no issues. i've jacked mine a few times now with the sliders and they work fine. if i was going to attempt the rubicon or something crazy i would maybe pay more for heavy duty but its not worth the extra weight/cost for my use. i think the trend is most people over modify and over protect their vehicles for the type of offoading they actually do, basic sliders like OPOR are going to be more than sufficient for most people.

Yes, they will powdercoat as a special order only situation where you have to essentially sign a waiver saying any damage is on you. This was because apparently, they couldn't get on top of powder damage that was occurring in shipping.

Just to update, I looked at everyones offerings. What I did learn is there is remarkably different ways in which sliders are built and they are definitely not all the same or even similar. It's obvious some companies put a lot more design into their sliders and don't necessarily charge more!
Also production times are widely varied as well.
Some of my wants were:
I went with RCI. I plan to do full skids from RCI as well. I really liked Pelfrey, but honestly about the same as RCI, and RCI is around 2-3 weeks to ship and Pelfrey is normally 10, but honestly with the move they are doing right now you know that is likely to effect things, so I had no issue going RCI and I think I will be very happy. I think I may make a thread with a comparison of all sliders and pictures.
Some things I liked that are not necessarily unique to RCI but definitely not available on all manufacturers sliders:
Can't wait to get them installed. I would love to get my sliders on and some basic skids, I will feel more comfortable on trails. I am in less of a hurry for my bumpers although I wouldn't be surprised if my rear bumper cover gets ripped off on some of the trails........hopefully my lift will prevent some of that.

- No top plates
- Kick out
- angled (20 degrees or so)
- Black powder coat

- 45 degree mitered main tube ends. This looks aesthetic and I could see where it could be very practical as well.
- Full length frame plate. Not all manufacturers do this! I think this is a better design.
- Three legs. Many manufacturers are just two legs. Again not that its going to make a world of difference but its a nice touch that requires more material, more welding, etc.

Why are you selling? I already placed my RCI order before I saw this, but certainly you're selling for a price break, if so what? Top plates? KDSS? Powder Coated?

I have the RCI sliders (no top plate) and aluminum skids - well-built, good group to work with (answered all my questions and then some). Had them on for a Moab trip and they prevented body/under damage on a number of occasions, can't say enough good things about them.
