Who is getting ready for turkey season?

My F150 and TR4 are a serious part of my gear when I hunt (deer, bear and turkey). I did some scouting this weekend, and brought the TR4 to the farm. Here she is. Yep, stock. BUT, my F150 is seriously lifted and has some big arse tires. Kinda hard working on 2 projects <GRIN>

Kinda funny when you are so happy with the gas mileage my '97 gives me! ound:

It sure is! Black Drum, 46 inches long. My guess put's it between 55-60lbs.

I have not hunted turkey since moving to NC. When I was in grad school in Columbia SC, I hunted turkeys and got my limit (5 gobblers) in three days outside of Blythwood in 2005.

Scariest thing was seeing a huge bobcat coming my way just after sunrise, then darting away into the woods while I was sitting at the base of a tree.

I have not hunted turkey since moving to NC. When I was in grad school in Columbia SC, I hunted turkeys and got my limit (5 gobblers) in three days outside of Blythwood in 2005.

What 5 is the limit!?! Here in commifornia the limit is 2 in spring 1 in fall. Spring just started and is only a month long. Fall is like 2 weeks. Never had much luck out here tho. My original hunting grounds are in Alaska and there wasn't any turkey up there. Ohhh god how I hate California!!!

Really because I don't get the commi feeling here in San Diego ... especially with our 50,000+ US Military and veterans. So seriously if you hate Cali so much then why are you still here?

I've lived in many different states including the south and trust me California is what you make of it. It is a huge state with plenty if liberal areas and plenty of conservative districts as well.

If you don't like it then go elsewhere. Be sure to post in off-topic about how great Alaska is.. (Edit I see you are from Alaska lol , well maybe that explains it)

Not try to start a huge pissing contest but seriously if you don't like it then move - America is huge.

The boat is a classic '72 Boston Whaler 13, with a 30 hp Evinrude 2-stroke hiding behind me.

I was fishing next to the railroad bridge in the middle of Biloxi Bay. I had just caught a 40" Black drum about a half hour before this one. I chummed them by scraping the barnacles off the bridge pilings, casting down current, and was using live shrimp for bait.

Well my friend, my girlfriend won't move until my son is older. I have a huge list of why California blows. The crazy hunting/fishing regulations are one. The fact we can't even drive a diesel down the road with a tiny puff of smoke and getting the cops called. Ohh wait I forgot paying a fee to walk up a hill is a cool thing now a days. Anyways san Diego is alright nice beaches. California does have its good things like wheeling spots. Except they're all getting shut down!! It's ok we can all have our own opinion unless you're most like all the liberals....then I guess opinions are frowned upon in this establishment.

My point is that Cali is nowhere near as liberal you make it sound.

I am not very liberal and I'm actually a military veteran. There is huge population in California that can think for themselves and don't view the world strictly as Liberal (socialist) vs Conservative (tea party) ...

California is a huge state with very diverse people of all political opinions.

I actually enjoy the northern part of California. It is a good state but not for myself. I'm not fond of the direction it is headed

In about a week I think, it will be exactly 2 years since that trip. It is in Guatemala, my grandpa took me there on a salefishing trip when I was 14 and I ended up landing that Pacific Black Marlin which weighed between 300-350 pounds! One of my best life experiences by far! I still have the hook used to catch it

Yep, the limit is five. If hunting on private lands, the season starts on the idles of March. For all WMAs in SC, it is yesterday. No hunting in the fall.

My uncle had a 84 13ft Whaler until I flipped it on a sandbar. He was not happy, but with a little gelcoat work, it was good to go. He also had a Newport that was so old that the interior was the old Whaler blue. Fun boat.

Never caught a Marlin, but did catch a swordfish once. The best was a 400lb bull shark that nearly took me (all of 5'6" and 150lbs) overboard if not held in the boat by my friends.

Turkey season starts up here last weekend in April! And we only get one in the spring and MAYBE one in the fall depending on the zone!
