I just picked up a used SR5 and I'm from OC!

Hi guys, I'm excited. Looked all over for a 4wd used and not many around. Well, there are but too far to look at/prices/etc etc.

Finally picked one and of course, can't wait to do some updates.

Can't wait to go to a meet/greet.

I'm ready to go 6112/5100 combo with BFG ko2's in 285/70/17's.
A 5th tire probably will not fit the spare steel wheel right? That spare probably can't handle the 285's.

Do you guys buy a cheaper steel 17x8 or 8.5 steel wheel just for spare or do you bite the bullet and buy 5 nice wheels and tires and rotate?

Talked to the installers and they said "most people leave the original spare". He said, just don't drive it for miles, just enough to get where you got to go to get fixed. Then I searched around and realized most "donuts" spares are small and hasn't ruined any cars yet!

i'm not sure exactly what you're saying here but 4runners have full size spares, not donuts. your spare wheel will look exactly the same as the rest of your stock wheels and will have the stock dunlop AT20 or whatever on it.
