Who’s 4Runner Inspired Your Build?

Dirtco and BigFishAllDay are my top two, their attention to detail and the level of their builds was and still is what motivates me to take my time and do the best I can with each project I do on the runner, not to metion both their rigs just look badass.

Nice thread bump Bandit Runner.

There really are so many builds, stories and pictures that inspired me to spend more money, than what I paid for my 4runner.

I got it in my head that I wanted a 4runner to transport my drums more securely than my 1994 extended cab. Researching, I found this forum started reading, and looking at all the cool kids mods. I didn't know it yet, but I just started to chase the rabbit down the hole.

Early on I noticed builds like NateMob, BigFishAllDay, absalom, BrianSD_42, GSPRunner, @hour, and later on Chim are just a few, besides several of the ones already mentioned inspired my direction. But there are people on here who don't have a build page that have equally inspired by a story, a picture, a write up, or a PM exchange.

So thanks all! This forum has been good to me, and bad for my wallet.

You nailed it on the the head.. this forum has been horrific on my wallet!!! I could have had a full sized newer truck by now! But.. love my 3rd gen and the people on this thread are super cool, especially when you meet them outside the forum they are even more cool.. so yeah, totally agree with you and thanks for the mention!

Patio Burrito for sure. Especially his well thought out suspension and rear cargo area. Not a lot of crap tacked on the rig, everything has a purpose, and it keeps the overall weight down, which is what I'm really after.

Mine's a '98 so it has the simpler bumpers, and the rear will be replaced with one from 4x4Innovations.

Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!

Still I like the idea, so thought I'd add (which pretty much si what most other people have said anyway... Some of my pics might not be the "latest" but hey, I've been messing with mine for about 10 years now!

Very educational V8 build. When I build mine I wasn't aware of any other 1UZ VVti 3rd gens anywhere... there weren't THAT many documented 3rd gen V8s anyway.. the 2UZ build and the way it was documented was ace.

It's funny, in my minds eye when I started I intended to have more of an off road focus.. unfortunately off-roading in England is really boring. So I kept with not making it any worse off road, but just trying to look at most bits and make it a better all round truck. (apart from on corners, no so much). I first bought it 10 years ago now.. still love it!
