Who's had Cooper Tires?

Fellows,

Anyone have experience with Coopers ... good or bad?

My third set of Mich. LTX M/S are approaching their end. I've loved them for their quiet ride and good traction on-road. I drive a '97 SR5 4x4, and hardly ever go off-roading -- fire roads are about as gnarly as it gets. My local shop (outstanding service) sells Cooper exclusively, so am considering their SUV or LT tires.

Thanks!

Saying Revos is kind of like saying red heads are sexy . . everyone knows they are good.

My experience with Cooper tires is pretty limited, they make Avon tires and I ran a set on my Integra for a while. Great ride and good traction. They were put together real well and wore even. Not sure how that equates to their truck tires, but I'd trust them.

I had a set of Cooper Discoverer A/Ts on a Grand Cherokee. I think they are the best kept secret in the tire world. Smooth ride and good grip. Don't know how many miles they would have gone since I got rid of the Jeep after only putting about 20k on the tires. I say give'em a shot.

Red heads are psycho!! What does this have to do with tires you ask? Nothing.

I'm wondering how the Yokohama Geolandar's are since they make them in a 275/65 A/T tire. Try those and let me know...

Go into a few different dealers and ask if they ever get any test tires of what you're looking for/or not. They might have been mounted, balanced and driven less then 100 miles but cost half the price and have the same warranty.

While we're on the subject of tires/wheels, I got the sickest idea for a tire/wheel combo:

20" Charcoal or Gun Metal wheels like the ones shown with 325/60SR20 BFG A/T KO tires...How sick would this look on a Galactic Grey or Salsa Red 4Runner?

I'm on my 2nd set of Cooper Discoverer ATR's and have been very happy with them - good enough in the snow and ice up here that I've decided against snow tires. My first set was on the '02 that I traded in on the '04 I have now - didn't finish wearing them out so I can't comment on the mileage. Noise and traction seem to be very good.

You cats slay me. Thanks for all the great insight, especially on the Cooper tires (racerdude & 00328 !). Maybe I'll post a follow-on review about the new treads.

Thanks again!
