Who's solved a Harmonic Vib?

Have one in the back. Just got a new drive line. The Toyota tech went right there even though I explained what was going on. It seems like a drive line but I was reasonably sure it wasn't. Well... Didn't solve it.

Are there any bushings guys lose back there? I have to go for the rear brakes next. Front rotors were way bent. Assuming the rears must be as well. There is a very slight pulse in the pedal as well. I'm just wondering if anyone else has solved one of these and have any other places to point to.

I had a bad vibe at 60-65 on Hwys...suffered with it for at least a year.

Solved when I replaced my old bfg's with new bfg's.

The tires were at 50,000 miles and still had good tread. I think they had worn and caused vibe. Great tires, but tread available was not an issue when I replaced them.

Big vibe in steering wheel = gone!

Constant speeds, light acceleration or decel. I get the slight pulse when light braking. I'm sure my read discs are warped.

I'm certainly running the radio louder though. Works great unless its talk radio. Then the window has to come down but it cold here in Georgia!

A few things come to mind. most likely its a wheel bearing type issue, brake issue or a tire issue. Possible that you rear diff is bad but that's really rare. Its up to you though to see if you can find any difference in the noise when doing different things.
1. wheel bearing: try driving at 50+ on a smooth quite road and swerve back and forth. if its a wheel bearing it will get louder when more weight is applied to that side the vehicle. swerve left to see if its a right side, swerve right to see if its the left side etc.
2. If its a brake issue, something hanging up or damage/rust on a rotor it "should" get louder or quieter when braking.
3. If its your tires, which is honestly the most common, it will do it all the time and just get louder with speed. If its coming from the rear, A tire rotation should move it to the front. Don't write it off as it not being your tires because there new or have a lot of tread. Tires can have a lot of issues that you cant see and fail all the time.

Appreciate it. I've been down those roads. I'm stumped and curious if anyone else had had one that sounded like a drive line but wasn't.

I remember reading a service bulletin for a humming or drone type noise at highway speeds, but I just disregarded it since I don't have the noise on mine. I can look it up again once I get back to work.

Im currently unemployed since I just moved, But I should be back at a lexus Dealer soon with access to Toyota service bulletins

cold in GA oh come on you rednecks dont know what cold is until you go further north. come on up to the IL,MN,WI, IN,MI area lol when your putting on thermal gear on we are still wearing shorts and running the a/c :becky:

I would change out the rotors front and back for the slight pulsing with the brake as a start and maybe give the brake system some love with some new jujujuice. One thing i learned on motorcycles is be in tune with what your tires and brakes are doing. 163g miles later and my truck stops better then most new trucks

I spent some time growing up in Montana. I know cold and it SUCKS! So when it gets down into the teens and twenties, its cold! You guys can have your snow though. I'll stay down in the land of cotton.

I looked for Service Bulletins on m 4R and couldn't find anything. I appreciate the help though. Payday will have me at the store to get new pads and rotors for the back end. The brake juice looks new.

I had humming at pretty much all speeds. Radio played loud always. Solution was rebuilding the rear diff. Bearings were out. Cost 1k. New rear diff would have been around 1800+.
