Why do most use the Toytec ultimate vs the OME

I know that the TT Ult lift has Bilsteins all the way around and superflex coils and coilovers in front w Bilsteins , but whats the benefits over the OME complete lift ?

I was told by someone that the CO's are a lot more maint and work , harder install , worse for CV's , ect .... is this BS ??

My OME kit I have is brand new it has 884's in front and superflex in rear for coil's and sport shocks at all 4 corners (Never installed) and wondering if I should send it back for a new Toytec Ultimate kit since I can adjust the front end without swapping springs or adding spacers to get the rake / look i want or if I ad something to the front end I can just crank it up and tweek it to where I want it or need it and just get it re-alighned and good to go. OR is that not how things work.

Im not worried about the cost , just want to do it right the first time .

Had you emailed them... Toytec probably could have answered your questions and steered you toward the Toytec Ultimate over the OME. I realize the possibilty of bias and upselling... but either way... it would shed some light on what you heard about adjustable coilover set ups.

I put the Toytec ultimate on my 4runner cause i wanted the adjustability in the event I put a front bumper on it, or if the coils start to settle/fade on the OME.

1st. Installation. If the OME coilover doesnt come completely put together and ready to bolt on... its already the more difficult install cause you have to put them together. Is it a big deal?... no. But its one more step. Adjustable Coilovers are ready to be bolted on out of the box.

2nd. Maintenance. As far as maintenance is concerned, the toytec coilover is not a rebuildable shock, so you shouldn't have to do any maintenance. To quote an email answering a question I sent to toytec... "Our coilovers are designed with a 5100 maintenance free shock, they perform and ride great on and off road in normal conditions."

3rd. CVs. The Bit about the CVs... is BS. You can adjust the Coilovers from stock height up to 3" (and in my experience even more if you want). The OMEs aren't adjustable. So the pro lies in the adjustable coilover cause you can crank them down or raise them up for the desired lift. They should come dialed in at 2.5" of lift (but definitely measure to make sure how much lift you gain and look at the angles of your CV boots if thats a worry)

In comparison to OME....I had a full OME set up on my 3rd Gen. It worked great and I had no issues with it. It was great on road and off. And its now on its 2nd owner since me (6 years of use) and the lift is still going strong on it. I can say only good things about OME. They make awesome stuff... But if i had the extra cash at the time of choosing, I would have gone with an adjustable coilover set up for all the reasons listed above.

Good luck. Either way you'll be satisfied, and by choosing OME you've already done it right the first time around.
