Why do people say

why do people say they will do something for you, then never do
seriously, if you dont want to do something for someone, dont lie, and say you will :rockthrow:
I was brought up to treat others the way you want to be treated, the sad part is, when a so called friend, says he will do something and never does :redbrick:
oh well, thanks for letting me vent

I rank the importance of the item in question. A fellow producer buddy of mine asked me to get an instrumental version of a song for him before he came over. I can get the instrumental in 30 seconds, so it went in the back of my mind. He showed up, and as soon as he did, i remembered. I did it then.

However if a friend calls me at 2 am for a ride because they are drunk and considering driving. I'm up and moving instantly(almost).

I think it is all about how important something is. Whatever you asked your friend for help with apparently wasn't important to him. So if it was important to you and he doesn't realize it then I would take a hard look at yalls relationship.

very true, but he does know that its important to me, as Ive asked him several times, and everytime, he said he would get it done, Ive even offered to pay him, but nothing.
In a way, I think its the times, most people cant or wont, say that they dont want to do something for someone.
Its called "KARMA" or treat others, the way you want to be treated..

If it was something big, or something that would have him go out of his way, or cost him money, I could somewhat understand.
oh well thanks for the reply and letting me vent, lol

oh and sounds like you are a good friend:

I think it's also a bit of the glass is half empty. I remember in my early 20's I had more "friends" than I could count. That number has significantly diminished over the years. My time is more of a commodity now and I've chosen to focus on the people around me who I know are the good ones. I can't think of the last time a friend has disappointed me since making that conscious decision.

Give us an example of something this guy failed to do when asked? What is his relationship to you? How long have you known him? Coworker? Neighbor?

Otherwise, i have no idea what you mean....

it very well could be, I think the guy forgets, that I drove 2 hours one way, to recuse him and his broken down rig on the side of a mountain, and didnt ask for anything in return, or that I buffed and waxed his rig, just caused he mentioned, it needed it, I got him a job that he wanted. yep, if this is "karma"
Life goes on, Im learning who I can trust and who I cant.
