Here in Michigan you can tint the front windshield the top 4" or the original tint mark, but can't exceed something like 4". Front side windows, you can only tint the top 4-5", the rest of the window can have NO tint. Rest of the car, I have not been able to find any restrictions. I have not seen any cars that have a 4" stip on the front side windows, most are just left plain.
Yes it looks stupid.
I've seen one car with the 4inch strip from the top on the two front side windows, it looked very stupid. Here in MI every single Land Rover I've seen has what looks like 20% on the front two windows and that's what got me to thinking why not just do the WS 50% and sides 50%. Obviously if you are driving a LR you have some money (maybe a basketball/ hockey player) and you're looking for privacy.
Why would you tint the entire windshield? I have a strip across the top of my silver 98 and it sticks out pretty bad, but really helps when driving towards the sun.because in most if not all states its illegal to tint the front windshield except for a strip across the top. correct me if I'm wrong...
