Why I don't like the zuk-mod

Or rather, why I don't think it's right for a truck that wheels. I've long suspected that it limits my flex in the rear, and while screwing around today for a silly contest in the classics section, I had a chance to prove it. In this video, I got just high enough on the stump to lift a rear wheel about a 1/2inch off the ground - you can see at the very start of the video, the other rear wheel is nowhere near as stuffed as it should have been. I'm fairly certain that I would have had all 4 wheels on the ground if the helper coil hadn't been between the rear spring and the frame.



I've got some other things that need to happen first, but I really really need to get rid of that zuk-mod.

Too much lift. I need the Ironman 1.8" springs, is what I need.

But it's just silly, that my IFS front has more flex than my straight axle rear. Silly, I say.

Ive never liked that zuk mod....

Just add a few leafs to your rear pack from a different set of spring. Flexy with a bit of lift... seems to be what youre after

Anything you can recommend? I don't really want to go to the effort of picking up a random set of springs from the pick and pull, removing my springs, adding new leaves to my pack, and reinstalling, just to find out they leaves I chose won't do it... that's a lot like work, and I hate work.

I scored a set of Tacoma leaf packs and a pair of the longer leaves from a 63" Chevy pack. I should have enough to start mixing and matching and see what I can make happen.
