Why I Hate People

Just what the subject says. I left work and was sitting in grid lock traffic 3 blocks from work. It was my turn to cross through the intersection and I did and the jackass who kept riding my a$$ for 3 blocks decides to blow the stop sign and pull up behind me and to keep his car from blocking the intersection of cross traffic, he squeezes the left half of his car under my rear bumper and the right side of his car was over towards the curb. Whoever was in the front passenger seat gets out of the car and comes up beside me and starts yelling and screaming at me to move forward so they can clear the intersection. Well there was no room for me to move up since I was sitting in grid lock traffic, there was like 5 inches between me and the car in front of me. So I ignore the tool and he gets back into the car and then the a$$ behind the wheel decides to touch my rear bumper with his and then starts pressing on the gas like he's going to move my car forward. I yelled out loud to myself "IS HE REALLY DOING THIS" and before I know it, he turns around and takes off.

There was no where for me to pull over so I just stayed in traffic till I got to the gym to see if there was any damage or not and there was as you can see in the pic. I know this isn't worth me turning into insurance to get the bumper repainted, but I know each time I look at the damage or when I wash the car it's going to eat me up inside. The jerks bumper took the paint right off, so it's not going to buff out.

Man, that sucks!! That would eat me up too. I would've tried reversing and pushing him back if someone had done that too me.

What I would do? When he touched my bumper, for instance, I would come out of the rig and call cops. Here in Canada, with any damage over $700 you can call cops to the sciene. And who knows how much it will take to fix it. This is not a chip car. And that would be a good lesson for the guy.

What an idiot. I feel bad for you because your 4runner looks really clean. What kind of car did he have?

what a jerk, the guy obviously doesn't any value of money. People spend good money upwards of 40,000 on these rigs and they go up behind someone and push them. I would have turned around and chased him until i could get proper identification off his license plate. Hopefully it won't be too bad when you get it washed.

This is exactly why I keep a digital camera in my car ready to go. if that happened to me, I would get out, and snap a shot of his license plate, and hopefully the driver. That way I could call the police and have evidence. Also, when people are driving like an ass at night, I find that taking a photo of them with flash makes them realize that someone is paying attention, and they suddenly start to drive like an angel.

then it goes on your insurance and still have to pay a deductible. maybe if there was more damage it would be more useful to report it

I'm really bad when it comes to road rage and people riding my ass, etc.

Reading this really pisses me off, there's no telling what I would've done if this were to happen to me. Most of the time I try to be the bigger person but in this situation I probably would've put it in reverse and rammed them or gotten out of the car and exchanged some words or maybe even fists...

DAYUUUUM, that sucks! I'd be helluva pissed. Hope you got a description and license # of his car. I always memorize this info everytime someone tailgates me so i know --just in case.

If someone is running on your ass do what I do: turn on your hazards while continuing to drive the speed you were driving.:biggrin2: :biggrin2: :biggrin2:

Getting out of your car and aggressively approaching another is a good way to get killed in the South. Depending on the state and degree of aggressiveness it is legal to protect yourself in the extreme.

With the advent of YouTube I often wish for forward and rearward facing video cameras, rolling continuously. I could post at least two interesting short videos a week ! Can't believe how stupid, rude, and vicious people can be, sometimes at 90 mph in traffic.

For the future I think you should invest in a rear facing camera. I never thought about using mine for this until just now!

If I were you i would practice being a auto-body shop before you take it in. you never know how good you are until you mess it up...... It has to get fixed either way right?

report as hit and run, and u can get money for it.

Im too lazy to read to the end of this thread so someone may have already wrote this. I would call your insurance company and see if there is a clause in your plan that will cover this kind of incident. My insurance will pay for the damage if it isn't my fault such as a hit and run, or when my hood was keyed. All it costs me is $200. This is quite less than my deductible of $2000. All it required was a police report and a phone call to my insurance agent. It is atleast worth your time to look into it, if you take it to a good body man he may be able to repaint just that one section, but most likely the entire rear bumper will have to be reshot. Good luck, I have been in your situation before of having people damage my vehicle, it is infuriating!!

People, they are the worst. Around here you see tons of city cars like that due to parallel parking. Of course a drawbar in the receiver usually will protect your rear.:bash:

Kids with Water ballons

I feel for u man.

about 10 years ago, I was out with my wife (she was driving) and I had a car full of folks from my work with us, some kids in a park, threw a water ballon at us as we drove by.

It hit the drivers side front window, scared the shit out of all of us, especially my wife, but then I realized the baloon full of water also smashed the drivers side mirror.

and guess what, a oil filled external mirror (the auto dimming kind) with a heater, costs about $350 for the part and about $150 to fit.

so those little a$$ holes cost me about $500

and the mirror never, never worked right on my chevy after that

pitty its against the law to kill some people.

so I feel your pain
