that's actually something i will try. i usually hit the brakes... hard. stupid yet effective and in NJ if they were to hit = their fault.

about 10 years ago, I was out with my wife (she was driving) and I had a car full of folks from my work with us, some kids in a park, threw a water ballon at us as we drove by.

It hit the drivers side front window, scared the shit out of all of us, especially my wife, but then I realized the baloon full of water also smashed the drivers side mirror.

and guess what, a oil filled external mirror (the auto dimming kind) with a heater, costs about $350 for the part and about $150 to fit.

so those little a$$ holes cost me about $500

and the mirror never, never worked right on my chevy after that

pitty its against the law to kill some people.

so I feel your pain

People are just a$$holes bro. I know it's tough to deal with sometimes-but it's reality. I live in Phoenix right now and believe me, I find a new reason for hating people every hour. I can't wait til I can afford some land and move out of city life.

More importantly, as that guy made advances towards my car in you situation, I would have felt threatened and been reaching down for my handgun. So for your sake not getting out of the vehicle and exhanging fists was a good idea if you came across someone like me. I'm not looking to kill someone over stupid moronic actions- but you can fix your car rather easily with some paint... you can't paint some things people would do to your face or well-being.

I agree with everyone on here though- I would have been seeing red and ready to beat some face in, but you did what you did in that situation, chalk it up to another encounter with "God's little gifts for us". :bash:

Just last month I was with my folks, going out to eat. My parents had just bought a brand new Explorer....we parked at the restaurant (in between the yellow parking lines mind you) and when we came out the person that was parked next to us on the drivers side had opened and closed their passenger door over and over again leaving dents and creases in our door and then had the nerve to spit a loogy (sp?) on the door handle. Made me sick how some people act.

Sadly this is what we deal with today. I have seen people park far out in a parking lot, to comeback and find some jerk crammed tight into their drivers door. This is how they say park as far as you can I will still find you.:bash:

And as far as your situation brother, it is ****ed up. that qualifies as a hit and run. Ive been too once the victim of a similar incident on the trail, it took months for my revenge but I got it. I could only hope you get so lucky... either way, Karma CAN BE a beitch.

Sorry for your loss. I don't want to stray too far off topic here, but Atlanta_Man is correct. In the state of Texas. We have a "Castle Law". This authorizes me to use deadly force on any individual threatening my home, property, or automobile. The moment I back out of my driveway, I am considered to be traveling and am authorized to carry a concealed handgun. I usually don't carry my .40 S&W, but others may. Be cautious who you approach. Let law enforcement handle these situations if possible.
