Why is 2019 deemed 6th gen?

Before there was a 6th gen section, people complained about wanting one so they could discuss the speculation/ideas around the next gen 4Runner.

Now they created it and people complain about having a place to speculate and share ideas around the 6th gen.

I don't know this for sure, but the forum software might have required that a model year is appended as a sub forum, for the creation of a new forum section (6th gen) - that would explain the 2019 4Runners link.

I am not complaining about having a 6th generation section to speculate and discuss future 6th gen models.
What I don't like is people discussing their 2019 or 2020 4Runners in this section as it takes away information from the 5th gen section where those threads belong.
If a model year selection is necessary to create a new forum how about using 2023?

Or the forum setup a 6th gen section to build search engine hits so as to game the game before the 6th gen does come out. The more we post 6th gen 4Runner the more the search engine bots find it and tag them which makes the forum rank higher in searches. So by the time the 6th gen 4Runner is released the only website with a better search ranking than T4R will be Toyota - maybe.

2020 WILL NOT BE 6th Gen

Someone here released the timeline for future models across all Toyota Models. The Tundra will be the first to change, then Tacoma and 4Runner. I believe the image said that 2021 or 2022 was the new model for the 4Runner, a true 6th gen.

Neither the 5th Gen section nor the 6th Gen section list model year 2018, which is the only year never listed in the forum sections. Actually, its a top secret generation, the 5.18 Gen. We could post in both the 5th and 6th gens then... :ballchain:

Too bad, once the vehicle is released or orders can be taken create one, otherwise this shit happens. It's dumb to assume that people will be responsible.
