Why is Maroon and white hard to get?

So I decided that I want a GX 460. i live in Lake Havasu city, Az. The nearest dealer is near Las Vegas (3 hours) but I visit my son in Tucson (5 hours). I want a base model with only navigation and black interior (mroon or white). They are giving me the run around that they can not sell me one for anywhere near invoice and they also say that there are only 2 allocated similar to that combination for the whole west coast. I guess I will have to try Phoenix or southeren California. It is almost like they do not want my business unless I am willing to pay full price. I do not want a light color interior because it shows dirt more and I like the bleack interior. It seems that most are the silver color. I do not mind silver but I have had enough silver cars. I like the white or maroon color. I also do not want or need all the features on the Premium. Am I asking to much? The Tucson guy says they are getting a maroon fully loaded Premium in soon but at full price it is to much $s for me. Maybe I should wait to see if gas does get to $4 a gallon. Then maybe they would deal. This is their response.

As far as the Lexus GX460 goes, the drive is one that has to be experienced to really appreciate and love (especially if considering buying). The true value of the vehicle can only be determined by that process. That being said, I know that you are not nearby to accomplish this.
Moving forward, I need to put the GX into perspective as to your wants and needs.
Firstly, the two colors and trim level (non-premium) you are interested in is a very limited. To be exact, Lexus is only making 2 of each of those to be delivered to the West coast. It does take some patience and effort to acquire this vehicle for you. As such, we do present proposals that are very fair and reasonable, but we cannot sell this vehicle at or near invoice. The acquisition of this vehicle typically will cost a dealer to actually pay transportation to trade for it, even if they are still on the ground and not sold.
Secondly, the good news is that we have a 2011 GX460 premium Claret Mica (Maroon) over black leather coming to us from the port soon. While I know that you specified that you only want the non-premium trim level, we would be happy to discuss this GX with you and provide an aggressive proposal that should be worthwhile for you to visit Tucson and do business with us.
Please let us know your thoughts and we can move forward from there.

atually white (starfire pearl) is the most common color for this vehicle

it is VERY hard to get the exact gx 460 you want the more options you add, but yours should be pretty easy to find

Instead of black, did you like sepia interior color.

I would go for the premium version also if you can dish out a little more cash.

After looking at the brochure again that sepia interior would be ok. As far as the premium goes you have to understand i am not the typical Lexus buyer. I would be perfectly happy with a new 4runner if it had a V8 but since it is no longer available and I want to stick with a toyota vehicle in the size range the GX 460 is what I want. I am not the rich city slicker type but more of a redneck. I plan to take this off road on the easier trails across the United States as I do with my 4runner now. That is why I need a vehicle with low range. Once the warrenty is up it will be mildly lifted for ground clearance. We are retired and have no use for rear seat dvd etc. I also have a lifted Jeep wrangler and atvs for off roading in Arizona so as you can see this is my hobby. I am not into bling at all in fact a Lexus would maybe make me lose my poorboy reputation (a bad thing).
