Why is XM so quiet ?

When I play the radio , play a cd , the volume level is ok or what I would call normal and can have pretty good volume at low numbers on the dial 20-30. When I switch to XM and want to crank it up for a good tune I have to get it up to 40-50.

Why the difference ? and does anyone who has the factory XM hooked up to radio notice this . I have a 6 disk , in dash MP3 WMA code "DJ" radio. No ideas who makes it .

Is there a line-out volume on the XM reciever perhaps? I've never seen one just picking at straws here. Maybe it has to do with the connection itself?

I have to do the same thing when I listen to my mp3 player. I have the same radio as you with the basic (non text display) Usa Spec adapter. Doesnt bother me really, just have to remember to turn it down before switching back to the radio.

My radio has text display. Its not the basic radio , not the JBL , but its the middle one ...lol. It was an option code "DJ" can remember the cost though.
