Why No Green?

Why no 5th Gen in green? We have three gray colorways to choose from, white and silver which are very similar, two blues now and NO Green :moon:

All I ever wanted, was the older models in green, tan leather, wood grain dash...

Saw some for sale while I was searching in reasonable condition, but didn't fit my criteria.

Something bout em...words such as Worcestershire, Connery, Mulch, n Honeybrook come to mind

Green Jeeps

Green is a classic Jeep Grand Cherokee and Cherokee color. Look at the Jeep GC Orvis Edition made between 1994 and 1997. And later Cherokee models.

I don't think green is a popular color on newer cars. The Land Cruiser used to have this cool green color but I think it's super rare:

I follow this guy on Instagram and every time his truck pops up, I ooze envy. Gloss green doesn't do it for me though...something about the matte!

^ that's a good look

I like the gloss olive green drab (is that a thing?) like the FJCs had

and the gloss green of the 2nd and 3rd gen

Green T4R

I like that FJ color but it's not an option in the 5th Gen T4R.
A good camo-blend color for So Cal would not be green but desert light brown, as in beige. The 4Runner of a few years ago used to come in a bronze looking brown that was pretty nice and doesn't show the desert dust.

I suppose I never really answered the question...just posted a picture of someone else badass 4Runner!

I think that colors, just like anything else come and go in cycles. That deep green color was very common in the 90's and early 2000's, but faded away like any trend. Right now, green is still a hot color...but just in a different shade, and that shade happens to be retina searing green that you see on every super exotic car. Darker Green will come back eventually, but it may be in the coming months, maybe in 15 years.

Overall, I do have to agree that the colors are a little boring for the 4runner line-up, besides the TRD Pro specific colors (Inferno Orange, Quicksand, Cement, Cavalry Blue). They definitely could use a green! I personally have a red TRD Pro because the Cement was essentially a $10,000+ option because the crazy mark ups.

I read in one of my car magazines a while back that the reason white, silver and black are the most common colors is because the dealers consider them "safe" colors. They want cars on the lot that will appeal to the masses and not stay there long. Red, blue, green, yellow, orange etc. is something you either love or hate so it is wiser to stay with a "safe" color.

brown, i mean bronze is a color that comes to mind.

Real slick looking rig. His is wrapped, not painted though. Wilco uses his pics on their website for their "HITCHGATE™ OFFSET".

Yep, you’re absolutely correct. That’s obviously not a factory option, or even an aftermarket paint job. I think wrapping is such a great thing. It protects your paint, changes the overall look of your vehicle, and can easily be undone if you wish!

The dealer told me this past week when we were buying our black Pro that they expect the green to be the Pro color option next year. I think it's weird that Toyota chose to do two blue options in a row with the Voodoo Blue coming out here shortly.

I would buy a good looking green car or motorcycle in a heartbeat. The best green ever was SYNERGY Green on '10 &'11 Camaros. I bought a '12 and of course they discontinued it. I do have an '18 Jade Green Indian Scout.
