Why not Amazon for a Tundra lift

Its time for a lift and I want to go with the Tundra/LC lift. I have read tons of threads about the tundra lift, but it seams like everyone gets their parts from the junk yard or from Toyota. I really don't want to go the junk yard route and Toyota parts are so expensive.


My question is can I just order the complete strut that would fit a 4x4 TRD access cab Tundra from Amazon?

Are the parts you get from Amazon no good?

I currently have a set of front struts from advanced that have been doing good.

Has anyone had any luck trying, new aftermarket struts?

The point in going junk yard or toyota parts is just that: they’re toyota parts. The tundra lift is no longer the tundra lift when you’re throwing in aftermarket replacement parts that are not tundra parts.

Nailed it. That's a pretty huge reason to anyone who knows the quality difference between OEM Toyota and aftermarket Chinese replacements.

I wish the newer Tundra suspension worked with 3rd gens. I bought a new TRD Tundra in 2008 and lifted it when it had 50 miles. Suspension has been in the attic ever since.

Typical aftermarket spring / shock kits from OME and Bilstein / Toytec are much cheaper than buying the parts new from Toyota. And, indeed, I wouldnt buy suspension stuff that wasn't OEM or made / sourced by a major suspension company.

Amazon has turned in to ebay, half of the stuff is chinese fakes it seems like. I dont even trust them for Bilstein parts. Even the stuff sold by Amazon itself, I think their purchasing agents just source the cheapest they can find from whoever in china for things like car parts vs Jegs, Summit, etc who specialize in car parts and have proper sources.

Not everything is Chinese and not everything is crap.

You can't go wrong with Toyota but I personally prefer NEW rather than junkyard unless it is not a wear n tear item.

The last few weeks they have botched my order for ball joints and sent me a broken OEM radiator and I ended up going to the dealer anyway. Done with em.

Have you tried looking at online sales or real Toyota parts? Save 25% with no tax by buying Toyota/ OEM online.

The Tundra / LC lift option is popular because of price mainly. By buying all new parts you make the mix and match not really worth it. If you're spending the money on new parts anyway there's no reason to not go with something like tundra 5100's and eibachs and OME rear springs.
