Some of the info in this thread is not correct. Neither of my 4th gens ever go past 5000 miles before the Maint light fully lights. 30k on the 08 and 102k on the 04. I have seen people post various miles like 7500 ect.. This is just not the case. It will not start going any longer. The light will start blinking about 100 miles before it goes on solid at 5000 miles each time. The recommeded OCI for all 4th gens is 5000 miles. That is what the light is set to. It is not variable like GM has thier change oil soon light.

The 03-05s have a trip/odo button and a reset button on the left of the gauge cluster. The 06-09 only have the one trip/odo/reset button in the gauge cluster with the tach (memory- its in the right most of the 3 round clusters).

I'll take a guess at why it was locked. With all due respect, it's the umpteenth thread on the forum on that specific item, which is also explained in the Owners Manual. The search engine has worked well for quite a while now, so it's best to try that before starting a new thread in order to take advantage of the wealth of information that has been accumulated here already.

My '03 Limited 4WD V8 Maint Light "flashes" @ 5000 mark from it's last oil change. So if i change my oil @ 5001 miles, it'll flash @ 10001 mi. Then if i change my oil @ 10004 mi, it'll flash next time @ 15004 mi. So on and so forth. But it will not stay on nor flash while driving. It'll eventually turn off at some point of time. I have (2) trip A & B and (*of course) the odometer.
