Wideband air/fuel ratio gauge

Has anyone installed an aftermarket wideband air/fuel gauge like one of the ones that autometer offers. In a former life I used to tune sport compact cars and I found these gauges very useful. Is it worth it for these trucks? It is very nice to know on the fly if the truck starts running lean and or rich. Basically use if for monitoring and trouble shooting mostly...not really for tuning. I would imagine the hardest part is plumbing it into the exhaust stream.

I would go the easier route and get a scanguage or ultraguage and monitor your short term and long term fuel trims

The 4Runner engine runs stoichiometric under almost all circumstances. It is rarely open loop. Not much to learn from a wide band unless you are tuning (upgraded supercharger or turbocharger).

I just figured I could use it for troubleshooting mostly, leaking injector, etc.

Pull your plugs and look at their color. The darkest plug has the highest flowing injector and the cleanest one is the most restricted.

With all 6 cylinders on one fuel trim bank one cylinder leaning out due to the injector flowing less fuel will cause the others to richen up to bring the O2 sensor reading back in spec.
