I turned 16 September 20th 2013. I was surprised with this. I knew i was getting it but I thought I wasn't getting it for a couple of more weeks. While I was at my little brothers football practice my Mom drove up with it. My parents purchased it from a family friend who owns a used car dealership. They bought it with 188,xxx miles and I look forward to putting many many more on it and doing many mods to it! 1996 4Runner SR5 4x4.

The first mods I did was place LED lights under the seats and also a bug guard for my hood. I do have LED under my front driver seat you cant see them in the picture because they were angled at a weird way and I didnt notice till now.

The next mod I did was remove my running boards. For Christmas I will be getting a Rough Country 3" suspension lift 2 12" subs an amp and new head unit and hopefully some all terain tires. Have not decided on size nor brand. Here is what it currently looks like.

Sorry if the picture quality was poor they were taken with my iPhone because my DSLR was not charged. I will be posting more in this thread as my mods come along. I hope you enjoy this!

Welcome, welcome! I'm not much older than yourself, that is one sweet ride! Looking forward to the progress!

congrats on the new ride. before you go all crazy on mods, do some research. if the rough country lift is a spacer, dont do it. at 188k miles if the shocks havent been changed out yet, you will be in for a shitty drive. bilstein 5100 shocks arent much $ more than a shitty spacer and will give you a great ride. if you can squeeze some more money out, also get OME coils front and back. good luck with your runner. and remember, the SEARCH button is your friend.

welcome to the forum bud!! oh those were the glory days! i remember turning 16 and getting our 96 sr5 like yours but green. so much fun in that thing.

like what magikbean said, think again at RC lift. look over toytec lifts website at what they have. also keep and eye out in the classifieds section for parts.

but feel free to ask any question you have of most defiantly use the search button and read a ton. its there. you wont want to stop. (i sometimes find myself needing to get away from T4R.org just so i dont pee my pants because im on here so much.)
 
Welcome bud, i too got my 4runner at 16, let me tell you from experience, do mods right the first time and don't be a cheapskate, you always end up paying more in the end. oh and maintenance first mods second.

I went from a $400 lift budget to dropping 1k on my front suspension alone. DO IT RIGHT.

Ps. Not saying spend a G on it. Just do OME or TOYTEC or something.
 
Welcome and consider yourself very blessed to have a 4runner for a fist vehicle, here is a pic (not mine but just like it) of my first chick magnet.

I agree but all so take a look at Quality Off Road Parts & Accessories Since 1999 they are usually a little cheaper.
 
Thanks for all the warm welcomes and advice! I would rather go with the better option first and not have to keep putting more and more money into it!
 
The Ultimate Toytec lift is awesome. I would say get your truck dirty before you buy suspension components. Decide if you want a truck for the technical rock stuff, the trail stuff, a mall crawler, or all of the above. Refer to this if you have any questions,

Thank you! I'm looking for more of trail and mall crawler! HAHA! Im not big on the rock crawling. Thank you for sowing that thread! Cleared a lot of stuff up. If I can I'm gonna go with the Ultimate Kit. Thank you!
