-I bought this 4runner somewhere in the spring of 2015. At the time I had just purchased this vehicle because it was known for reliability and it was able to hold my absurd amount of mountain bikes. (I mountain bike alot) After a while I became interseted in cars and specifically off roading and over landing... Little did I know, the car in my parking spot was a perfect candidate.

Wheels & Tires

While these have been on the car for around a year, it should be noted that they did not come with the car. I am a college student so money is always tight, and cars don't help. I was able to find the wheels tires (with 14/16) and the lugs for 800 dollars. I am happy with them and they seem to be a good all rounder.

Suspension

Again, the car did not come like this when I first picked it up. There was not a modified part on the vehicle anywhere I could find. I decided to go with the Toytec lifts as they seemed, from my research, to have pretty quality components for reasonable price. I am very impressed with the adjust ability and the easy of installing and allowing everything to flex and work its magic. Seems to bee a good combinations of the 600 lb spring rates and the suspension.

CB mounted

This is a pull from Ripcords builds. He is amazing when it comes to creating top notch runners and if you don't know him I reccomend taking a look at his things. Here is a link. Everything all together I think I got out the door under $200. Honestly I am not sure as I did this months ago. The mount was created by me and was put in place of the motorized mount for the radio antenna. I no longer needed it as I use my phone and Bluetooth. I used a fire stick as the antenna. I have a 2 foot for around town and because any larger and i cant get in my garage. I have a 3 foot for when I'm on trips and need a bit more range. The distance is actually quite for as it is mounted pretty high on the car and don't need the extra length to get the antenna above the car.

The red wire under the plastic is how I get power as of right now. It can be pulled out and plugged into the car outlets. Going to make a better way soon.

Brake Cables & Sway bars

People complain about how tundra brakes are needed on a 4runner once you upgrade the tires and rims. That the brakes are too small for the mass it needs to stop. Most 4runners come with 16 inch rims. However mine came with 15 inch rims which means i have even worse brakes than most people. I have a background with race cars. While the race cars I work on have more pistons than normal the biggest difference is the cable. When going from regular cable to steel braided cable there is a noticeable greater stopping ability and the breaks feels so much better. So I have decided to upgrade with the toytec cables.





Additionally, while I did not take pictures I lengthened my sway bar links. The front links fit perfectly for the rear links after the lift. For the front fitting links, I found that a 1992 4runners rear links fit perfect for 2002 lifted runner front sway links.
