Will 08 Pioneer 6cd work in a 03 JBL

Someone posted that they replaced their JBL 2003 6cd head unit with the 2007 head unit and it worked. Can this be done with the Pioneer 2008 head unit? My buddy just replaced his 08 with navigation and I'd like to put his stock head unit in my 03. My 03 has the 10 spk JBL Synthesis setup.

Welcome to the Forum. Is it the Scion head unit that Pioneer makes? If it is I think you will need some new trim pieces.

Electronically it is plug and play. I do not know if it will fit the console correctly. There was a change in the size of the opening in '06.

Someone posted previously that the 2007 fits just fine in a 2003 as long as it's a 6cd changer. The head unit I'm getting is the stock 2008 6cd changer. It looks like my 2003 JBL, but is made by Pioneer.

Apparently, there are 2 6cd changers to choose from in 2008 (Pioneer/JBL) while there was only the JBL 6cd changer in 2003. I have a hunch the 2008 Pioneer 6cd will be similar to the 2003 single cd and won't be plug and play in a JBL setup. I'm just not sure.
