Will 31's Fit on my SR5 ???????

I have a 1994 4runner , 4clyn, SR5 4WD Auto... with stock tires....P225/75R15 102S


I was wondering if i can install 31 inch tires "31x109.50R15/C"on my truck?

What do i have to worry about by moving up to 31's on my stock 4Runner......... Was it only the V6 4Runner desighned for 31's, ??

Please help i want to order some tires.....:bash:

They'll fit but I'd advise against it with your 4-banger. They will noticeably affect your acceleration and gas mileage.

I had 31's on my 90 4-cyl for a while. They look nice but I was glad to go back to stock tires.

How bad is the accelleration with 31's??? Is it terribly noticable, or just a bit???

The difference was pretty noticable on my 4R. Hard to quantify, but going back to the stock tires made it feel like I had another 15% or so more HP. The 4cyl 4R is under powered as it is, especially when trying to merge onto the freeway.

Gas mileage went up a couple MPG too.

Plus the larger tires throw your speedometer/odometer off.

they will fit and it wont be that bad. When i put my 30" tires which are pretty much the same as 31s on my truck (89 4cyl) i barely felt a difference if any at all. The truck was a slug before and continues to be on after the tires. I didnt feel any loss of acceleration at all, the only thing is that it will make your speedometer inaccurate. Still id go with the 31s though the stock tires look like honda civic tires.

The 31" tire package was also available on 4 cyl trucks. The gearing was changed either way.

Plenty of people run 33's with the stock 4cyl/5spd combo. There is some loss of power, but most people find they can live with it.
I wouldn't reccomend that w/your auto, but 31's shouldn't be a problem.

no, 31x109.50-15,...it's for maximum lateral stability, 9 ft-wide tires!!!

31's will fit great and you won't have any trouble getting around.

I have an 85 w/ 22re and I have 31/10.5/15 on my truck, the only difference I've noticed is going up hills I don't have as much power.

Today i'm going to get a new set of of Michelin LTX M/S, Stock p225's on. After alot of research, it's come down to either looking big and bad, or performance. So i choose performance, these will still look good will post some pics later today.

225/75-15 is such a small tire. I would suggest at least getting a 235/75-15 (.5-inches taller) or better yet 30x9.5-15 (1.75-inches taller that stock)
I've had 30x9.50s for 4 years now, and they were great with my 4.10 gears.
Firestone Destination AT's have great performance specs on tirerack.
