Will 5th gen 4runner get a platinum package?

I've noticed that Toyota has added a Platinum package to the Tundra and Sequoia I was wondering if this will be added to the 4runner. I'd hate to buy a Limited and find out that the platinum package will be an option later. Maybe its just meant to be for the full size segment. BTW I like the redrock interior color in the Platinum package thats the main reason i want it but dont want a full size. Any info would be great!! Thanks!!

Why would you want a 4Runner with an extra $10,000 added to the price of a Limited for wood grain on the steering wheel and a fancy grille?

No, it won't. At least for this year, I'd be surprised if they did though, since they already have SR5, Trail, and Limited, I don't think Toyota has more than 3 trim lines on any of their vehicles. They used to have 4 on the Avalon, but one of them was dropped. Plus, a platinum package doesn't make sense on the 4Runner, but does on a Sequoia. Most people who buy Sequoia's don't go off-road.

Most models don't, but a select few do. Corolla has LE, S, XLE and XRS. I think there is a base model Corolla too. The upcoming 3rd gen Sienna will have base, LE, XLE, Limited and SE.

Rather than make the Platinum trim which few people would buy, I wish they make it easier for people to spec out and option a vehicle they see fit and like with the different options available. Most dealers around me don't do special orders, either because they don't know they can, they don't know how or they rather just make a quick sale with some thing that's already on their lot.

ha, oh ya, i forgot about the 15 trim levels the Corolla has, LOL. i think most people buy whats on the lot, and if they opened up the trim levels more, i think they'd hold onto more inventory, which is something they wouldn't want to do. you can order a car now however you want it, with a down payment of course, but people don't want to have to wait 3-6 mos to get it either, so that is another issue.

Yes, they will. It's called a Lexus GX460 :hello:

Good point. But I dont care for the new body style of the gx460 and the wheels on the new gx look like the 18" 4runner limited wheels from the 06-08 models. I currently own a 07 Tacoma sport but wanted a 4runner to begin with but knew the model change was coming and couldn't wait any longer to get a vehicle, so now I'm researching on what to get :flamethrwoer2:

I'm just busting on ya. I'm not a fan of the GX styling either, but for me the big problem is the side-hinged door. That's a deal killer for me.

I don't think Toyota will sell a Platinum version of the 4Runner. With their "back-to-basics" mantra for the 4Runner, a Platinum version would be moving in the opposite direction, and it would compete with the GX.
