Will a 3rd generation bullbar fit 2nd generataion 4Runner?

I wouldn't want to mislead you, as I'm not completely certain, but I think the first three Gens are pretty much the same dimensions. I just picked up a 1st Gen ARB for my 2nd Gen--a local shop had been sitting on it for a long time, and dumped it for a few hundred less than I could get one online for. I wouldn't be surprised if the mounts are a little different, but a shop could probably adapt that. I'd get other opinions first, though, as I'm going on rough estimates here.

3rd gen truck or 4runner first off if its a truck 89 though 94 it will fit its a 3rd 4runner 95 and up it will not fit with out being modifed because they changed frame/supsension compoents but yes it could be made to fit with some fab work

I BOUGHT the 3rd Gen Alloy Bullbar because it was dirt-cheap.. and figured if it cost me a little to modify it for my 2nd gen - so be it..
..I brought the bar home.. and I tried to fit it to my truck..
..and.... SHORT ANSWER: the 3rd generation bull bar FITED PERFECTLY ON my second generation 4RUNNER!!
Long answer: The horizontal rails fitted and I could bolt the alloy bull bar strait on. However, the vertical rails were out by 5mm. HOWEVER i was able to unbolt the brackets for vertical rails on the bull bar, and then i placed some washes on the bolts for spacers.. and it fitted 100%
VERY HAPPY!

To be fair, i should also add that the bullbar's bolts aligned perfectly, however, the wiring for the indicators did not.
The 2nd Gen's only have indicator wiring, and the plug was differnt to the 3rd gen bull bar. Also, the 3rd Gen bullbar had additional parker lights. This can easily be overcome, but i thought i should mention it :0)

I put a 3rd gen brushguard on my second gen... welded that sucker

Thank you, its my dogs bandana, we were at the lake earlier and it was all nasty and muddy (like the dog) so I tied it there so it could dry
Yours looks bad ass Bennie, if I could get my hands on a bumper like that, I'd make it fit

For other people thinking of doing it, the holes w/ the 3rd gen bracket dont line up at all. So either weld it, like I did, or drill new holes in the bracket. I recommend welding it, weld it and forget it.

I have a lab, usually I just put the seats down and he stays in the back looking out the back window with it rolled it down about 1/2 way.... I have the big husky liner for the storage area, and if hes all wet and muddy when we go home I'll put him back there with the seats up. If he tries to jump over I'll give him the NOPE! and he goes stays in the back lol.
With the 3rdgen brush guard I was trying to use the tow hook bolts to put it on, but had no luck, I drilled a hole in one of the brackets and just decided to weld it. (im an amateur welder but it came out good).

As per yoru message.. we used to keep our dogs in the back with the seat down, but we found they left their hair, mud, and dirt EVERYWHERE - so we put in thick rubber mat and a pet barrier. now they sit by the rear window and pop their heads out as w go along. And they can make that area as messy as they like, while our luggage in the back stays reasonably clean

I was deployed to afghanistan for a little over 3 years, and my NCOIC told me to take a vacation to Australia when the time was right... after looking through your pics, I think now is the time!!! Great pups too! I can imagine the mess they make, I can barely keep up with one lol.... The amount of fur I clean up at home, and in the T4R, Im surprised he isn't bald lol.
