Will Duratrac 285's fit my setup?

Hi All,

Just finished installing a Toytec Boss 3" kit on my '06 T4R SR5 (V8) and 1.25" spidertrax spacers. Currently have 265/65/17s on stock rims (17X7.5) and thinking of going with Duratrac 285/70/17s.

Have done a lot of reading and it seems like the Duratracs will fit with this setup but most folks have a body lift... I don't plan on doing a body lift so if I went with the 285 Duratracs, how bad is the rubbing and how much do I need to trim?

You will prob need to move liners forward, take off mud flaps, possibly do Body Mount Chop, and I would save up for UCA's!
 
They'll fit, maybe just move the fender liners forward and trim the lower inside lip of your bumper and you should be good!

What Sparky said. I currently have the Toytec Ultimate with 285's and I had to move liners forward, remove mud flaps and, EVENTUALLY, have to do the body mount chop. And, yes, plan on getting UCA's as this is the only way you will get absolute proper alignment and not prematurely destroy your ball joints.

Learned this the hard way, 2 months with stock UCA's and the steering wheel is "floaty" and now both my upper ball joints are leaking pretty good, fortunately I got a great deal on some UCA's from a member here.
 
How do you move the liners forward and the body mount chop?

UCA's are next on the list... let the stock upper ball joints leak so I "have" to fix them :D

Damn... I may have to consider the Duratrac 265/70/r17s instead - not sure the 1" in overall tire diameter and a bit more width is worth it.
 
It looks a lot better, lol, but seriously I had 265/70s on stock rims for a week before my wheels and tires and it looks so much better with 285s!

Oh good. You bought that set from the 5th gen guy? I think you'll be much happier with them. PM me if you have any problems installing them. I'm happy to walk you through it.
 
Are you guys able to fit a 285/70 in the spare tire location? I've read some have made it fit and others have not... also read the V8 (which I have) has a different hitch than the V6 and has a little more room?

I"m running 285's on my Runner, but have not tried cramming one into the uderside/spare location. I have indeed heard of other successfully doing it by partially DEFLATING the spare in order to make it a little bit more flexible.
