will factory Navigation play DVD's

No, it does not. The DVD slot is only for the MAP disc. The OEM Navigation system does not play movie dvds.

Cool concept but $450 bucks. Geesh. That seems pretty steap for a bunch of cables. (basically)

I sold a new landcruiser back in '03 or '04 that would play dvd movies as long as the parking brake was on.
