Will I fit into a 6'-8" parking garage w/ daystar lift?

The wife brought up a new concern today, parking in the downtown parking garages after the lift. They are normally 6'8" clearance.
So I'm going to do a daystar 2.5/1.5 lift with 265/70/16 tires. Expecting 3.25" front and 2" rear gain with lift and tires. Edmund's says the 4runner height is 69.3 in, is this to the top of the roof rack? 69.3+3.25=72.55 / 12 = 6.04ft


Will I fit, anyone with a lift get into parking garages?

You sure about that clearance? That seems pretty low.

A typical interior door has a 6'-8" head height (by code), plus frame. Typical exterior doors are 7'. So, if there are any doors in the garage to stairwells or anything, you would need more than 6'-8" to fit it with the frame and header.

Of course, I'm not sure. That could be the correct height for your particular garage. I'm just saying. I'd hate for you to make a decision on the wrong height.

Yeah I'm sure they say 6'-8". There are a few in the Seattle area, one I was in yesterday had a sensor while you drive in to check your height.

You could get a stiff piece of wood, like a 2X4, and lay it across the rack so it sticks out a foot or so, then measure it to the ground. That will tell you exactly what you have to work with.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. With a +3" lift, 285/70/17's and a roof rack w/ lights I can squeeze into a 6'7" garage.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. With a +3" lift, 285/70/17's and a roof rack w/ lights I can squeeze into a 6'7" garage.

X2 except I don't have 285's. :-(

That's odd, cause I have 3+ inch lift and 33's MT, BajaRack and Light and I fit in a 7ft garage with no problem.

I have my COs cranked to 3.5" lift up front and i have all pro 3.5" springs in the rear and 35" tires and I park in a garage that I believe is 6'8". Its close but I fit.

That's odd, cause I have 3+ inch lift and 33's MT, BajaRack and Light and I fit in a 7ft garage with no problem.

Take in mind...I'm on factory roof rack & crossbars and don't forget about that Yakima FatCat6.

(Those TWO things are tall itself...I wish I had a better setup)

6'7" and above...I'm good.

Tanforan Target has a parking structure & that's where I tested it when I go shopping there.

My daystar + 32's fits fine into my 6'5" underground parking. with about 1" to spare.

The first time was scary, now I dont even notice.

Just make sure you try different area's to make sure nothing is lower than advertised.
