I have nothing against North American plants, but all experience which I have shows that even the same vehicle build in Japan and America are actually different. I used to drive Camry for some time. First one was build in Japan - no problem, second one was American - every 5-6 month I had to come to the dealership and fix some 2c things, like driver window was twice slower then passenger one; passenger heating seat was boiling the passenger, in a same time driver was nearly cold;... Looks like Japanese are having better quality control. I remember that one of my friends after visiting Subaru factory in Japan told me that he personally saw that worker had to sign paper that he builds some part of the engine. And he also was told by one of the factory manager, that if this engine will fail during warranty period and testing will show that this worker did his work not 100% perfect he will be fired.
