Will my lights be legal?

I'm gonna have my four KC slimlites on a light bar in front of my grille. My understanding is my lights have to be covered when on road as per CA vehicle code. Do you think the stone guards they gave me will cover me or am I asking for a cop on a bad one to give me a ticket?

They wont be legal, but as long as the lights are off, the cop wont notice/care about the lights, like they look like they could be covers, but unless he was really having a shitty day and and you did something else to piss him off, you wont be bothered by it.

CA Vehical Code Division 12, Chapter 2, Article 2, Section 24411

Auxiliary Lamps: Off-Highway Use
24411. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a vehicle may be equipped with not more than eight lamps for use as headlamps while the vehicle is operated or driven off the highway. The lamps shall be mounted at a height of not less than 16 inches from the ground, or more than 12 inches above the top of the passenger compartment, at any place between the front of the vehicle and a line lying on a point 40 inches to the rear of the seat occupied by the driver, shall be wired independently of all other lighting circuits, and, whenever the vehicle is operated or driven upon a highway, shall be covered or hooded with an opaque hood or cover, and turned off.

those stone guard won't cut it as the occifer wants to get you. Kinda like tint on front windows, or Driving without a front license plate in CA. Do it at your own risk...

yeah thats what i figured, maybe ill make some covers out of...? It would be a pain to have to take my stone guards off to put a cover on, then put them back on if i go off roadin

a ton of people around here run piaa's, and our cities officers are notorious for nit picky things. just keep them off on the road and you will be just fine
