Matt Savinar, the author of the article and administrator of that website, is a well known energy pessimist. This guy has a Political Science and Law degree and makes bold claims likes he's a geophysicist, engineer, or investment banker. Moreover, he gets hardly any respect and is given little credibility outside his pessimist circle.

Although we are entering the early stages of a worldwide energy crisis, it will be nowhere as severe as he makes it sound. More reasonable estimates have oil production peaking around 2050 and beginning terminal decline around 2100. By then there will already be a secondary energy infrastructure in place.

Alot of us here in the UK are looking and starting to run on VegOil...ethanol etc as stated will damage fuel lines and other compnents unless made out of viton [synthetic material]

Diesel at present is running at 94.9p per litre..it cost me 45 pounds to fill my tank from 1/4 mark last week. [approx 60-65 litre tank]. We'd be glad to pay your rates

We have to register with Customs & Excise to use VegOil as a substitue and depending upon the person registering and how your using the VegOil some have pay 27p/litre duty and others 47p/litre
