Will the TRD Rock Warrior shift knob fit a 4th gen?

As the title says, will it fit? I have seen it in a 2005 SE, but I am not sure if it had to be modified. Can somebody give me a solid answer on this?

Supposedly the 4th Gen & 5th Gen 4Runners, and 2nd Gen Tundras all use an M8x1.25 thread pitch for the shifter.

I can try and see if I can verify that tomorrow now that I am back to work on modified workload.

That is the one. It think it looks really nice and I want one. I just have not been able to get a solid answer if it fits without modification. I would imagine that it does, I just want to be sure.

I think you have to cut some of the bottom off of it or part of the threaded shift rod to be able to shift into the lower gears with it.

Mike (Redswan) did it to his but he had to take a dremel to the shift column in order to make it work.

4th gen shifter is M8x1.25 thread pitch, the shaft is about 110mm to the plastic plate, it expands to 9mm diameter about the bottom 1/3 of the shaft.

2nd gen Tundra is M8x1.25 and the shifter rod is about 150mm to the plastic plate, the diameter is 8mm through out.

So, what if you were to put something inside the knob to keep it from threading all the way down?

rather than doing that I would put something like tennis racket tape on the actual shifter to stop it from going all the way down. If I am not mistaken at the bottom of most of these shifters the area is recessed where the threading is so the tape would be unseen and the look would be clean and flush. Plus if you shove something inside the shift knob it would be a pain in ass to get it out and you would either have to keep adding stuff to get it to the right height or you would have to remove stuff if you put too much in.

You can get one off ebay for 80-90 bucks. I love the way it looks, I just want to make sure I can make it work without too much BS.

Does anybody have other suggestions as well? I only want quality and don't care much about how much it is gonna cost. I paid 250 plus shipping for the JDM Evo 8 MR LM shift that I had in my VR4. I just want something with style, class, and quality.
