Will this suspension setup work?

I've found a seller on here that is selling me Front and Back Struts from a Landcruiser. They are LC Black Tokico shocks and I will be getting the front springs to use in the rear. The only thing I would need to grab is for the front LC Shocks is TRD springs or OME springs. Would this setup give my 4Runner a 2-3" lift all around and be compatible fitment wise?

(The Lift FAQ only mentions using LC front shocks onto the rear, no information about using LC shocks to lift the front of the 4Runner.

The lift FAQ does not mention LC shocks lifting the front of the 4Runner because no shock, LC or otherwise is going to lift the front of the 4Runner. Shocks do not lift. Springs lift.

Wouldnt bilstein 5100s work since you can adjust the seating position of the spring? I knkw its not ideal but ive read of people using their stock springs with 5100s but i think they were only able to get 2" out of it.

None of this is even addressing that Landcruisers have a totally different front suspension setup from 4Runners. The front springs and rear shocks will work, but you're still buying used parts and probably without knowing the color coding on the springs. The front shocks will be expensive paper weights to you.

You're talking about a strut, combined with a spring. A shock doesn't have a mounting position for a spring on it, and would not work.

Oh my bad thats right. Didnt realize he also wanted to use the lc shocks to lift the front.

First time on here, interested in building my 4Runner

I'm trying to build my 4Runner to be a off-road/daily driver and am wondering what king of suspension and lift I should get. I've been looking at the King 2.5 coil overs internal bypass shocks. But I'm not sure if that's my best option. So basically I'm just wondering what you guys would recommend doing. I want. 3 in lift, with 33in tires. And when I do all that what motor upgrades do I need to do until I can rebuild it? Open to anything, just want to make sure this build goes right. I own a 2000 4Runner limited 4wd.

You should probably read and research more man. And I'm totes jealous, I wish I could afford $3000 for just front shocks on my first go around :lookout:

I'm sorry you don't know the answer to your question. Go research it or at least run a search of the existing threads.

The best way to build a truck is always to throw the most expensive parts you can find at it right from the start :becky:


But really, he is right you know. Do some looking. It all depends on your definition of best. I run king stuff front and rear and they're definitely a nice shock. Are they necessary for what I do? Definitely not, but then again i paid 10x less than those coilovers you mentioned above.

You say offroading/daily driving. Thats anything from going on a dirt road once in a while to hardcore crawling and everything in between. Explain more about your usage and then people will actually be able to help you

I'm sorry you lack the ability to find answers yourself, find the search bar or at least try harder.
Your advice is very appreciated, I'll make sure I find a good job that pays $50/hour because those are plentiful for 21 year old college students.

[MENTION=137551]Gonzo13b[/MENTION]. A LOT of these folks on here have pretty much tried everything at least once on their rigs. Follow some of the lengthy builds and you will get what I mean. The reason you caught flack was because you posted all this known expensive suspension stuff you want but then ask about suspension. That makes some of these folks on here really scratch their head (or kick their dog).

Seriously, the best way to learn is to lurk and read and NOT post a question that you can answer for yourself. And Honestly, just find someone's build that you really like that has what you are looking for and copy it. Nothing wrong with that cause someone else spent the time and money to figure out what works making it easy, and cheaper, for you.

PS I'll just ignore the childish comment about "getting a better job". That's pretty low dude.
