Winch Bumper

I am looking for a winch bumper like the shockworks or arb or similar for cheaper and wondering if anyone has any ideas and also a rear bumper i cannot seem to finding one I like

yeah good luck, look for used. your not gonna find a cheaper one than ARB. they are the only bumper that is mass produced that still has good quality and a reputation and name behind it, and been proven time and time again by countless vehicles and individuals in countries all across the globe. not saying other bumpers arent out there for the same cost as an ARB(in similar design) but id be skeptical of quality and craftsmanship. yes there are other bumpers out there that are nicer than the ARB, like Armorology but then again you will pay for it, i think their bumpers are all custom one off designs and they start around $1500 and go up from there. [MENTION=3663]shrockworks[/MENTION] and [MENTION=64712]CBI OffRoad Fab[/MENTION] make great products put they are gonna typically cost more and are not as widely available -meaning you cant just go down to your local 4wd shop and order one typically. both of those companies as well as the other small independent makers take pride in their craftsmanship and probably dont have the money to invest in assembly line CNC machines and robots to weld and move parts around or giant 100,000 ton press/brake machines to cut out, prebend and weld all their bumpers together 24hrs a day. i know Shrockwords has a lead time and its typically anywhere from 3-6months, but you get a super nice bumper.

You can build your own if you know how to weld, use a grinder and cutoff saw/torch/plasma cutter. You will be a lot more proud in saying that you built it and your the only one that has this bumper. And its a lot of fun! And WAY cheaper! It's just a option if you have the tools and know how. (Really isn't that hard) I had a saying on my last forum.

Anyone can buy, but can you build?

Call it stupid, but I like it and its just the plain truth lol.

You can build your own if you know how to weld, use a grinder and cutoff saw/torch/plasma cutter. You will be a lot more proud in saying that you built it and your the only one that has this bumper. And its a lot of fun! And WAY cheaper! It's just a option if you have the tools and know how. (Really isn't that hard) I had a saying on my last forum.

yeah while i agree with this 90% i think there are some areas that get over looked, and that is for some people time is money. i have two small kids and i wife, i can weld just fine and would love to make a bumper, but the time it would take and the time taken away from family is just not worth it to me, ill gladly spend double the money and have all that extra time with my family, that is hard to put a price on. also the safety factor for me with the ARB -nobody else has crumple zones built into their bumpers to absorb the impact. and try making those at home... just my thoughts on making your own and a couple of the reasons i decided not to.

I can agree with you they are very time consuming and can get in the way. Heck, I was driving around with half a bumper when I was building one for my Taco. But since that's all I really do is weld and fabrication work, it works out great and I absolutely love it haha.

Amen man! Though totally agreed with kid, I'm a college student and having nothing to do besides work in the summer so I make all my stuff
