You can build your own if you know how to weld, use a grinder and cutoff saw/torch/plasma cutter. You will be a lot more proud in saying that you built it and your the only one that has this bumper. And its a lot of fun! And WAY cheaper! It's just a option if you have the tools and know how. (Really isn't that hard) I had a saying on my last forum.
Anyone can buy, but can you build?
Call it stupid, but I like it and its just the plain truth lol.
I can agree with you they are very time consuming and can get in the way. Heck, I was driving around with half a bumper when I was building one for my Taco. But since that's all I really do is weld and fabrication work, it works out great and I absolutely love it haha.yeah while i agree with this 90% i think there are some areas that get over looked, and that is for some people time is money. i have two small kids and i wife, i can weld just fine and would love to make a bumper, but the time it would take and the time taken away from family is just not worth it to me, ill gladly spend double the money and have all that extra time with my family, that is hard to put a price on. also the safety factor for me with the ARB -nobody else has crumple zones built into their bumpers to absorb the impact. and try making those at home... just my thoughts on making your own and a couple of the reasons i decided not to.
