Winch question for bumper fitment

So I am looking at bumpers, I am more than likely going with the Coastal Offroad kit. I have read that it will fit a 10 winch but I went to Engo's site and the 10k and the 12k are the same size so I am going to go with the 12k winch. Is there really and advantage with going with the 10k winch other than 2k less strength and saving about 50 buck?

Depends on the Winch Mfg.

Lots of the winches are just re-geared inside.
Same motor, same frame, same cable.

Thanks I had a 10k o n the Xterra, I think I will just go with the 12k since I know I will be adding all the body armor.
